Office Chair Factory Standards

Admin October 19, 2026

The factory standards for office chairs cover fundamental general requirements, materials, structure, appearance, functionality, testing methods, and other relevant criteria, collectively forming a quality control system.

Fundamental General Standards: Based on QB/T 2280-2016 'Office Furniture - Office Chairs', it defines terms, classifications, requirements, and testing methods for office chairs. It specifies that the adjustable range of the seat height should be no less than 60mm and includes safety requirements, providing a basic framework for office chair quality.

Material Requirements: The materials for seats and backrests must comply with environmental standards, free from harmful substances such as formaldehyde, to safeguard user health. The strength, wear resistance, and elasticity of the materials must meet relevant requirements to ensure the durability of the office chairs.

Structural Requirements: Welding areas must undergo strength testing to ensure no cracking or breakage, guaranteeing structural stability. Screw connections must be tested for tension and torque to ensure they are secure and reliable, preventing loosening. The lifting mechanism must pass multiple lifting tests to ensure stability and reliability, meeting the needs of users of different heights.

Appearance Requirements: The surface coating should be smooth, free from bubbles and scratches, enhancing product aesthetics. Packaging must be intact and undamaged, meeting standard requirements to protect the product during transportation and storage.

Functional Requirements: Seat comfort must pass ergonomic testing to ensure no fatigue during prolonged use. The lifting function must be stable and reliable, with easy operation. The noise performance should be good, with no abnormal sounds, creating a quiet office environment.

Testing Method Standards: GB/T 38611-2020 'Office Furniture - Office Work Chairs - Stability, Strength, and Durability Testing Methods' standardizes the testing procedures for stability, strength, and durability. QB/T 5618-2021 'Office Chairs - Body Pressure Distribution Measurement Methods' standardizes the testing procedures for body pressure distribution, ensuring seat comfort.

Other Relevant Standards: Group standards such as T/SPEMF 0003-2021 supplement safety requirements for flame retardancy and limits on harmful substances, enhancing product safety. Product size standards specify three seat height specifications: 400mm, 420mm, and 440mm, to meet the needs of different users.
