Office Chair Facing the Door

Admin October 10, 2026

It is not advisable for an office chair to face the door, mainly due to the following two impacts:

From a health perspective, office seating should not directly face the main door. The main door serves as the entry and exit point for airflow and energy in the entire office. When a seat is directly facing the door, a person can be directly impacted by the incoming energy field. This impact can adversely affect the subconscious mind and subsequently influence the nervous system. Once the nervous system is disturbed, it may lead to a person becoming irritable. For example, someone who is normally mild-tempered may suddenly become prone to anger and emotional agitation. Additionally, it may trigger unexplained illnesses, such as frequent headaches and fatigue, affecting physical health and work performance.

From the perspective of work decision-making, having the main door directly facing the seat results in extremely poor airflow conditions. Since the main door is an entrance and exit, frequent personnel movement brings various airflow and energy fluctuations. This unstable airflow environment can interfere with a person's thinking, causing confusion. When the mind is in a confused state, emotions also become unstable, making it difficult to remain calm and rational. In such situations, when facing work decisions, a person is prone to making incorrect judgments and decisions. For instance, when handling important project plans, they may overlook key points due to unclear thinking or make unreasonable plans, thereby affecting work progress and quality, and potentially even causing losses to the company.

Therefore, to avoid the above-mentioned adverse effects, when arranging office seating, one should try to avoid placing the office chair facing the door and choose a relatively stable, quiet position that is not directly impacted by airflow to create a good office environment and safeguard one's health and work efficiency.
