Office Chair Fabric Materials

Admin October 11, 2026

Common fabric materials for office chairs include leather, mesh fabric, DuPont nylon elastic mesh, and non-woven fabric and high-density polyester commonly used at the bottom of chairs.

Leather Fabric: The leather fabrics used in office chairs are mainly PU leather or genuine leather. PU leather is a type of artificial leather that offers good wear resistance and stain resistance, while being relatively affordable, making it a common choice for many office chairs. Genuine leather, on the other hand, has a natural texture and breathability, providing a soft and comfortable touch. However, it is relatively expensive and requires regular maintenance to maintain its good condition.

Mesh Fabric: Mesh fabric is widely used in office chairs and comes in a variety of types, including high-quality mesh, tech mesh (such as NanoFlex4.0 tech mesh), flocked mesh, and DuPont Bounce tech mesh materials. These mesh fabrics generally offer good breathability and elasticity, providing a comfortable sitting experience while helping to keep the body dry. Among them, tech mesh and DuPont Bounce tech mesh materials, in particular, offer excellent support and durability, meeting the needs of long-term use.

DuPont Nylon Elastic Mesh: This material is characterized by its high weight per unit area and high elasticity, which helps maintain the shape and structural stability of the chair back while providing good breathability. Its unique elastic design allows the chair to better conform to the body's curves, offering personalized support and helping to reduce fatigue caused by prolonged sitting.

Fabric at the Bottom of the Chair: Non-woven fabric and high-density polyester are commonly used as the bottom fabric of office chairs. Non-woven fabric is lightweight, breathable, and dustproof, often used for bottom protection of chairs. High-density polyester, on the other hand, offers higher durability and tear resistance, weighing over 100 grams per square meter. It is not prone to deformation and does not get moldy when damp, making it an excellent choice for the bottom fabric of chairs.
