Admin October 09, 2026
There are various types of fabric cloth for office chairs, and the fabrics used for different types of office chairs and the black cloth at the bottom of chairs each have their own characteristics.

Fabrics for Different Types of Office Chairs
- Fabrics for Executive Chairs: Executive chairs often use leather, artificial leather (PU leather), linen-like cloth, or mesh fabric. Among them, leather chairs are divided into genuine leather and faux leather, and executive chairs are more likely to use leather chairs. These fabrics have the characteristics of strong breathability and good resilience, which can meet the pursuit of comfort and quality by executive chair users. For example, genuine leather fabric has a high-quality texture and excellent breathability, providing a good sitting experience; artificial leather (PU leather) is relatively low in cost while also being able to simulate the appearance and some properties of genuine leather; linen-like cloth and mesh fabric, with their excellent breathability, keep users dry even after sitting for a long time.
- Fabrics for Computer Chairs: They cover materials such as linen-like fabric, mesh fabric, and leather. Linen-like chairs are mostly used for work chairs, staff chairs, and mid-back chairs; mesh fabric chairs were mostly used for mid-back chairs, conference chairs, and front-desk chairs a few years ago. Chairs made of these fabrics are highly breathable and suitable for long sitting, and are now widely used for staff chairs; leather chairs are mostly used for executive chairs. Linen-like fabric has a certain degree of toughness and comfort; mesh fabric has a significant advantage in breathability, effectively reducing the stuffy feeling caused by long sitting; leather fabric appears more high-end and is often used for executive chairs with high quality requirements.
Common Materials for the Black Cloth at the Bottom of Chairs
- Non-woven Fabric: It looks like pressed marshmallows and is formed by pressing polyester or polypropylene fibers at high temperatures. This material is cheap and breathable, and can also be naturally degraded, making it relatively environmentally friendly. However, its durability is relatively poor. It is prone to shedding after three to five years of use and is not very suitable for scenarios with high requirements for the durability of the material at the bottom of chairs.
- High-density Polyester: It is like a tightly woven fishing net, weighing more than 100 grams per square meter. It is extremely durable, does not deform when pulled, and does not get moldy when damp. It can be used with peace of mind in underfloor heating rooms and during the rainy season in southern China. This material is often used at the bottom of office chairs costing over a thousand yuan. Manufacturers choose black because this color is the most dirt-resistant, and polyester dyed black is particularly firm, not fading even after ten years of use.
