Preventive measures include purchasing products from regular manufacturers, with a recommended price of over 200 yuan; checking the smoothness of the pneumatic rod's lifting and lowering to avoid stuttering or abnormal noises; and ensuring that an explosion-proof steel plate with a thickness of ≥2 millimeters is installed between the seat cushion and the pneumatic rod to reduce explosion risks.

Material Hazards of Cheap Office Chairs

Cheap office chairs have material hazards, such as the use of moldy wooden boards, waste sponges, and other low-quality materials. For example, in 2026, a netizen posted that a popular "slippery stool" priced at 89.9 yuan had such issues. Leading live-streaming rooms such as Jiaogepengyou and Dongfangzhenxuan all sold this product. Later, the Jiaogepengyou live-streaming room admitted that the issue was true, apologized to consumers, and announced measures such as a complete product recall, termination of cooperation with the brand, and the initiation of a "refund without return" compensation process. When purchasing office chairs, consumers should avoid products with excessively low prices and unknown sources, carefully check the material quality, such as smelling for odors, observing whether the surface is flat, and touching the material for comfort, to reduce health risks caused by material hazards.
