Office Chair Easy Disassembly

Admin October 16, 2026

The disassembly methods for different components of the easy-disassembly office chair are as follows:

Disassembly of the rocking knob on the swivel chair

  • Step 1: Remove the armrests
Use a socket wrench to remove the fixing screws of the armrests of the rocking swivel chair, and then take off the entire armrests. Pay attention to matching the screw specifications with the socket wrench to avoid slipping or damaging the threads.
  • Step 2: Remove the plastic cover of the adjustment knob
Carefully pry open the plastic cover of the seat adjustment knob using a tiger-tooth tool (or a similar small prying tool). Control the force during operation to prevent the plastic cover from breaking or scratching the surface.
  • Step 3: Remove the base screws
Use a socket wrench to remove the fixing screws of the base, and then the front seat part can be separated from the base. If the screws are rusty, you can spray a loosening agent in advance to assist with disassembly.
  • Step 4: Separate the seat-back connection
Remove the elastic bands connecting the seat cushion and the backrest to complete the disassembly of the knob part. The elastic bands may lose their elasticity due to long-term use, so avoid excessive pulling during disassembly to prevent breakage.

Disassembly of the tray of the easy-disassembly chair

  • Step 1: Adjust the height of the gas lift
Raise the gas lift to its highest position to provide sufficient space for subsequent operations. This step can reduce the tightness between the chassis and the gas lift, facilitating disassembly.
  • Step 2: Tap the chassis to separate it
Use a hammer to evenly tap the chassis around the lifting rod. Do not concentrate the tapping on the same position. A poor-quality chassis may deform or crack due to excessive local force, so tap around in a circle to gradually loosen the connection.
  • Step 3: Deal with stubborn connections
For chairs that have been used for a long time, the connection between the chassis and the gas lift is tighter, making disassembly more difficult. In this case, you can extend the tapping time or increase the force appropriately, but continuously observe the condition of the chassis to avoid damage.

Precautions:

  1. It is recommended to take photos of the original structure before disassembly for reference during subsequent assembly.
  2. Wear protective gloves during operation to prevent tool scratches or injuries from falling parts.
  3. If the parts are severely rusty or cannot be separated, it is recommended to contact professional maintenance personnel for handling to avoid more serious damage caused by forced disassembly.
