Office Chair Dual Lever
Admin October 09, 2026
The dual levers of an office chair are two functional control levers located at the bottom of executive or office chairs, controlling seat height adjustment and backrest recline functions respectively. They are core control components of heavy-duty chairs.

Functions and Operation Methods
Right Lever: Seat Height Adjustment
- Height adjustment is achieved through pneumatic or hydraulic principles. When using, maintain a seated position; gently lift the lever to raise the seat and press down to lower it. The adjustment standard is to have the knees naturally bent at a 90-degree angle with both feet flat on the ground, ensuring comfortable leg blood circulation and lumbar support.
- Some models are equipped with a locking function. After adjustment, release the lever to fix the height and prevent accidental seat movement due to accidental touches.
Left Lever: Backrest Recline Adjustment
- Lifting the lever unlocks the backrest, allowing it to recline to a preset angle (usually between 100ยฐ and 135ยฐ), and it automatically locks when released. Some advanced models allow adjustment of the recline resistance via a knob to accommodate different body weights or usage scenarios (e.g., heavier individuals may need to tighten the resistance, while it can be loosened for enhanced relaxation during lunch breaks).
- The recline mechanism often adopts a dual-lever design, dispersing body pressure through lever principles and enhancing seat durability.
Structural Features
- Dual-Bucket Base Design: The dual-lever base adopts a dual-bucket structure, providing a larger support area and better stability than single-lever bases, but with increased weight and volume. It is commonly used in functional chairs (e.g., executive chairs, massage chairs).
- Integrated Recline Mechanism: Some models integrate dual-lever recline components into the chassis, supporting reclining functions. Smooth recline is achieved through metal linkages and spring systems, belonging to heavy-duty chair control components that require high-strength pneumatic rods.
Safety Warnings
- No Standing Operation: The pneumatic rod has limited load-bearing capacity. Forciblyๆฐๅจ (Note: 'ๆฐๅจ' is translated as 'manipulate' or 'force' in a more general sense here, but for clarity in safety warnings, it's better to use a phrase like 'forcibly moving' or 'forcing') it while standing may cause the rod to break, leading to seat collapse or personnel falling risks.
- Corrosion Prevention and Environmental Requirements: Metal levers should avoid contact with liquids (e.g., beverages, cleaning agents) to prevent corrosion and structural loosening. They should be placed on dry, flat ground to prevent uneven lever stress due to uneven surfaces.
- Regular Inspections: After long-term use, check for looseness at lever connections and whether the pneumatic rod is leaking air to ensure normal functionality.
