Office Chair Drawing

Admin October 08, 2026

There are mainly two common ways to draw simple sketches of office chairs:

Method 1: Drawing Based on the Transformation of the Letter 'h'

  1. Basic Framework Construction: First, write two letters 'h' of similar size on paper. These two 'h's will serve as the main support structures for the backrest and seat of the office chair. The distance between them determines the overall width of the chair, and the spacing can be adjusted according to actual needs. For example, if you want the chair to look wider and more comfortable, the spacing between the two 'h's can be appropriately increased; if you pursue a simple and compact style, reduce the spacing.
  2. Connection Structure Drawing: Use four diagonal straight lines to connect the two 'h's. Among them, two diagonal straight lines extend downward from the two sides of the upper 'h' and connect to the corresponding two sides of the lower 'h', forming the side supports of the chair. The other two diagonal straight lines are at the front of the chair, extending forward and downward from the bottom of the upper 'h' and connecting to the front end of the lower 'h' to enhance the stability of the chair. The angles and lengths of these diagonal straight lines will affect the appearance of the chair. Steeper diagonal straight lines will make the chair look more dynamic, while flatter ones will make the chair appear more stable.
  3. Arc Addition and Coloring: In the seat part, use arcs to outline the shape of the seat surface to make it more ergonomic and look more comfortable. Finally, color the office chair according to your own preferences. You can choose a single color, such as black or brown, to create a simple and formal atmosphere; or you can use multiple colors for matching, such as a blue backrest and a yellow seat, to increase the liveliness of the picture.

Method 2: Drawing Based on the Combination of the Letters 'H', 'ไบŒ', and 'ๅ…ซ'

  1. Letter Combination Positioning: First, write a relatively large letter 'H', which serves as the overall framework basis of the office chair and represents the main support part of the chair. Then write a 'ไบŒ' below the 'H'. The two horizontal lines of this 'ไบŒ' will serve as the upper and lower boundaries of the seat. Next, write an 'ๅ…ซ' below the 'ไบŒ', with the opening of the 'ๅ…ซ' facing downward to determine the position and shape of the chair legs.
  2. Short Line Drawing and Refinement: Between the two horizontal lines of the 'ไบŒ', draw four short lines as the support legs of the chair. The lengths and angles of the short lines can be adjusted as needed. Then, simply refine the lines of each part of the chair, such as connecting the edges of the backrest and seat with smooth curves to make the chair look more natural.
  3. Coloring Treatment: Similarly, after completing the line drawing, color the office chair appropriately. You can choose colors according to different scenarios and styles. For example, for an office scenario, you can chooseๆฒ‰็จณ (here it means 'subdued' or 'sedate') colors like gray or dark blue; for a chair in a children's room, you can use bright colors like red or green.
