Office Chair Discoloration
The treatment of office chair discoloration should be based on different materials and causes of discoloration, as detailed below:

For fabric office chairs, yellowing is often caused by stain penetration or oxidation. To treat this, mix a mild laundry detergent with warm water to create a dilute solution. Dip a soft-bristled brush into the solution and gently scrub the yellowed areas. Then, use a wrung-out damp towel to wipe repeatedly and finally let it air-dry in a well-ventilated area. This method effectively removes stains while minimizing damage to the fabric.
When leather office chairs turn yellow, avoid using alcohol or strong acid/alkali cleaners, as they can damage the leather. Instead, use diluted soapy water or a specialized leather cleaner. Dip a clean, soft cloth into the solution and gently wipe the surface. After cleaning, promptly apply a layer of leather conditioner to restore the leather's luster and extend its lifespan.
Yellowing of the feet of plastic or rubber office chairs is often due to long-term exposure to air and oxidation. To address this, mix baking soda with warm water to create a paste. Apply the paste to the yellowed areas and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then, wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar diluted with warm water (in a 1:2 ratio) to wipe the surface, which can also effectively remove the oxidized layer. If the handle of the office chair is made of plastic and has changed color due to oxidation, you can gently scrub it with toothpaste. If the discoloration is due to poor-quality paint on the plastic handle, consider replacing the handle or using stickers for decoration.
The treatment of solid wood office chairs with discoloration depends on the situation. For chairs with a wooden frame and fabric upholstery, clean them by gently wiping with a damp cloth dampened with a small amount of mild detergent, then dry with a dry cloth. For solid wood chairs with a varnish layer that have localized yellowing, apply a matching wood wax oil after cleaning to restore the original color. Additionally, whether the discoloration of a solid wood office desk is normal depends on factors such as usage time, maintenance, environmental conditions, and manufacturing process. Natural aging, poor manufacturing process, direct sunlight, humid environments, air pollution, and improper cleaning methods can all lead to fading. Therefore, it is important to avoid these factors in daily maintenance.
