Office chair disassembly requires targeted operations based on different types and structures. Here are the disassembly steps and precautions for common office chairs:

Disassembly of the Belco Office Chair BC03Q Premium Edition
- Headrest: Pull the headrest to its highest position, press down firmly on the thin metal strip in the middle, and pull out the headrest once you feel the locking mechanism loosen. If the metal strip is difficult to hold, use a discarded hard card to assist in the operation, avoiding direct finger pressure that could cause injury.
- Armrests: Place the chair upside down on a high platform and use the hex wrench that comes with the box to loosen the screws beneath the armrests. Inverting the chair provides more stable support for screw removal.
- Backrest and Base: Use the same hex wrench to remove the screws connecting the backrest to the base. Pay attention to the specifications and quantity of the screws to avoid omissions that could make reinstallation difficult.
- Separating the Five-Star Base from the Gas Spring: Use a rubber mallet (or a regular hammer if a rubber mallet is unavailable, though it will be noisier) to tap upwards on each of the five legs of the five-star base, separating the gas spring from the base. Control the force when tapping to avoid damaging the components.
- Separating the Gas Spring from the Base: Tap the steel plate of the base with a rubber mallet to detach the gas spring from the base. Ensure accurate tapping to avoid damaging other components.
- Casters: Simply pull out the casters. If they are too tightly connected to the five-star base, rotate them slightly before pulling them out.

- Removing the Base: First, separate the backrest, raise the gas lift to its highest position, hold the seat with one hand, press the height adjustment lever with the other hand, and shake it a few times to remove the base. Keep the chair stable during the operation to avoid damaging the components due to excessive shaking.
- Removing the Gas Lift: Invert the chair legs and use a rubber mallet to knock out the gas lift. If a rubber mallet is unavailable, use a wooden board as a cushion to reduce the impact damage to the gas lift.

- Headrest: If the headrest is directly inserted and secured with two screws, remove the two screws. If the design is different, handle it according to the actual situation, such as observing whether there are any snap-fit structures.
- Armrests: If the armrest screws are on the back frame, they can be removed directly. If they are on the seat frame, manual twisting may be required due to space constraints. Pay attention to applying moderate force to avoid stripping the screws.
- Backrest: After laying the chair down, the backrest and chassis are usually secured with three screws. Remove these three screws to take down the back frame.
- Hydraulic Rod Components: Separate the connections between the hydraulic rod and the chassis, and between the hydraulic rod and the chair legs. Pay attention to the internal pressure of the hydraulic rod during the operation to avoid sudden ejection causing injury.
