Office Chair Disassembly and Repair

Admin October 13, 2026

The disassembly and repair of office chairs should be carried out according to the faulty part and the type of chair. The specific methods are as follows:

I. Disassembly and Repair of the Base, Gas Lift, and Chair Legs

If an office lift chair or gaming chair shows signs of tilting or fails to lift, first prepare a rubber mallet (if unavailable, use an iron hammer with a towel as padding). Turn the chair upside down on the ground and use tools to remove the screws securing the bottom tray, separating the base, gas lift, and chair legs from the seat cushion.

  • Base Fault: Hold the chair upside down with one hand and strike specific positions on the base with the rubber mallet. If the base still cannot be separated, switch to an iron hammer with a towel and strike it several times.
  • Gas Lift Fault: Turn the chair upside down and strike the bottom of the gas lift evenly with the side of the hammer. Be careful to avoid the button in the middle of the gas lift to prevent damage to the internal structure. Also, ensure that the gas lift has relevant certification marks such as SGS or TUV for safety.
  • Wheel Disassembly: Most wheels are designed with snap-fit mechanisms and can be removed by simply pulling hard. If they are tightly fitted, use a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth to pry the edge of the snap-fit for assistance.

II. Disassembly and Repair of the Beๆฐช BC03 Office Chair

This model requires a 5mm Allen wrench for operation:

  1. Remove the left and right armrests.
  2. Remove the four screws on the bottom support. When laying it down, hold the bottom support with one hand and the seat cushion with the other.
  3. Lift the seat cushion and unplug the connecting wire and the power supply to the motherboard.
  4. Charge the power supply for 5-10 minutes, then place the seat cushion back and align the holes.
Note: Avoid pulling on the wires during operation to prevent damage to electronic components.

III. Disassembly and Repair of Office Chair Casters

If the casters do not rotate smoothly due to trapped hair, follow these steps:

  1. Disassemble the Casters: Turn the chair upside down (seat facing down) and hold the caster bracket to pull it out. If the snap-fit is tight, use a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth to pry the edge for assistance.
  2. Clean Debris: Use tweezers to remove long hair strands and carpet fibers from the gaps in the casters, operating in the direction of rotation to avoid residue. Use an old toothbrush dipped in neutral detergent to gently brush the surface and bearing gaps, rinse with water, dry with a cloth, and air dry for 10 minutes.
  3. Lubricate and Install: Apply 1-2 drops of office equipment-specific lubricant (avoid using cooking oil) to the bearings and rotate the casters to distribute the lubricant evenly. Align the casters with the bracket snap-fits and push them in until you hear a 'click' to confirm they are securely installed.
  4. Test and Adjust: Turn the chair upright and push it to test. If there is still stuttering, check for any remaining debris that has not been cleaned.
