Office Chair Die-Casting Polishing

Admin October 11, 2026

Office chair die-casting polishing primarily involves the treatment of different materials and components, with common methods including polishing processes for aluminum substrates and aluminum alloy die-castings, as well as comprehensive operational guidelines.

The die-cast aluminum substrates of home office chairs typically undergo coating or polishing treatments. For example, models such as cb/1694 180 and cb/1694 360 feature shells and embossed surfaces with thicknesses ranging from 8 to 16 millimeters, made from fully recyclable high-tech aluminum substrates. These treatments not only enhance surface smoothness but also improve material durability and environmental friendliness. Coating processes may involve spraying or electroplating, while polishing removes surface imperfections through physical friction, giving the metal a silvery sheen.

The five-star bases of aluminum alloy die-cast office swivel chairs require surface polishing and must pass static pressure BIFMA tests. BIFMA is a standard established by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association in the United States, primarily testing furniture for load-bearing capacity, stability, and durability. Polished five-star bases not only look more refined but also reduce friction with the floor or other components, extending their service life. Polishing processes are often combined with surface treatments (such as anodizing) to further enhance corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

The polishing process for die-cast aluminum parts can be achieved through magnetic abrasive finishing. Specifically, the product is placed in a tooling fixture bucket containing polishing fluid, stainless steel magnetic needles, and water. A magnetic field is used to make the needles strike the product's surface at high speed. Through continuous friction, surface oxide scales and dirt are ground away, resulting in a smooth and silvery finish. This method is suitable for aluminum parts with complex shapes, uniformly removing burrs without damaging the substrate, making it ideal for mass production.

The entire process of polishing office chair feet requires strict adherence to operational guidelines. First, lift the workpiece and align it to ensure stable placement in the polishing work area. When grinding, prioritize the outer side and maintain precise contact between the abrasive belt and the workpiece during rotation to avoid excessive local wear or omissions. This step requires high skill from operators, who must adjust the abrasive belt grit and grinding pressure according to the material and surface condition to achieve the best polishing effect.

Post-polishing cleaning is equally crucial. Aluminum parts after magnetic abrasive finishing should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water to remove residual polishing fluid and metal debris. Hand-ground components should be wiped with a soft cloth to prevent secondary contamination. The cleaned surface should be dry and free of water stains. If necessary, rust prevention treatment or protective coating can be applied to maintain long-term smoothness.
