Office Chair Development
Office chair development involves multiple aspects, including the responsibilities of development engineers, the application of innovative technologies, and the achievements of research and development institutions.

Responsibilities of Development Engineers
Office chair chassis development engineers play a crucial role in the development process. They are required to lead or participate in the structural and industrial design of the chassis, select materials appropriately, covering plastic parts and metal parts (such as sheet metal and profiles), and ensure the compatibility of materials and processes. They use 2D/3D CAD software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD to complete product modeling, engineering drawing creation, and technical documentation preparation. They are responsible for the entire product development process, from conceptual design, prototype creation, testing and validation, to mass production, strictly adhering to domestic and international safety and environmental standards such as ISO, BIFMA, and GB. Meanwhile, they need to optimize the existing product structure and processes, solve technical issues raised during production and by customers, improve product performance, and reduce costs. Additionally, they must keep track of industry technology trends and explore the application of new technologies such as biobased materials and intelligent adjustment modules in chassis products.
Innovative Technologies
Innovative technologies are constantly emerging in office chair development. For example, the gravity-adaptive back-following technology can automatically adjust the support force and angle according to the human body's gravity, providing more fitting back support. Qingxian Intelligent Innovation (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. is committed to integrating dynamic ergonomics with a healthy and comfortable office experience. In June 2025, it launched the world's first dynamic ergonomic chair, equipped with core technologies such as a holographic following system, a one-size-fits-all back support system, and spinal stretching, breaking the traditional single-point and static support logic of ergonomic chairs. On July 27, 2026, it launched the new dynamic ergonomic chair Maxis Pro series, which, in response to the long-standing issues of inadequate body fit and dynamic support interruptions for large-bodied users, was redesigned from the underlying structure and introduced the segmented reclining support system for the first time.
Research and Development Institutions and Achievements
Sunon Research Institute is an important research and development institution of Sunon Technology Co., Ltd. It has established a '1+N' global research and development model, setting up a European R&D center in Berlin, Germany, and a North American R&D center in Los Angeles, USA. It has also cooperated with academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering to establish the 'Green and Low-Carbon Furniture Industry Academician Innovation Research Institute'. Its 'Hafu' chair, jointly developed with the Swiss B4K studio, was launched in 2025. The core team, in collaboration with B4K, won the 2026 German Red Dot Product Design Award for the H5 ergonomic office chair.
