Office Chair Defect Issues
The main defect issues with office chairs include stability problems, caster wear and tear issues, formaldehyde emission problems, gas spring safety issues, and five-star base strength issues.

Stability Problems: Some office chairs fail to meet stability standards and are prone to tipping over when leaning forward, backward, or sitting sideways, which can lead to user injuries. According to the sampling inspection results of the State Administration for Market Regulation, seven batches of products from seven companies, including Foshan Shouyu Furniture Co., Ltd. and Huizhou Branch of Shenzhen Jialewei Dun Furniture Co., Ltd., have such issues. Stability is a basic requirement for office chairs, and non-compliant products undoubtedly increase usage risks.
Caster Wear and Tear Issues: Non-compliant caster wear and tear is also a common problem, affecting the lifespan of office chairs. Five batches of products have been found to have non-compliant caster wear and tear, involving companies such as Anji Baocheng Furniture Co., Ltd. Casters, as key components for the mobility of office chairs, have their wear resistance directly related to the product's durability.
Formaldehyde Emission Problems: Non-compliant formaldehyde emissions cannot be ignored. Long-term exposure to low concentrations of formaldehyde can cause dizziness and fatigue, while higher concentrations can be toxic to the nervous system, immune system, and liver. Four batches of products have been found to have non-compliant formaldehyde emissions, posing a potential threat to user health.
Gas Spring Safety Issues: Gas springs are key components for the height adjustment of office chairs, but poor-quality gas springs can cause explosions. Thin gas spring walls, impure inert gases or the use of compressed air instead of inert gases, and excessive temperatures caused by frequent seat adjustments can all lead to explosions. Additionally, some office chairs are not equipped with explosion-proof steel plates, increasing usage risks.
Five-Star Base Strength Issues: If the five-star base of a swivel chair has thin walls or poor strength, it is prone to breaking during daily use, causing users to fall and get injured. The five-star base, as an important component supporting the office chair, has its strength directly related to the product's safety.
