Office Chair Cylinder Size
The common sizes of office chair cylinders are primarily based on stroke specifications, including types such as 65mm, 100mm, 120mm, 140mm, and 260mm, with different sizes suitable for various usage scenarios.

From the perspective of mainstream application scenarios, cylinders with 65mm and 100mm strokes are common choices for standard office chairs. Among them, the 100mm stroke has become the mainstream configuration in the market as it can meet the height adjustment needs of most people's sitting postures. These cylinders achieve seat lifting and lowering by compressing gas, and the stroke length directly determines the adjustment range of the seat height. For example, a cylinder with a 100mm stroke can flexibly adjust the seat within a range of approximately 40-50cm, accommodating the office needs of users of different heights.
Cylinders with 120mm and 140mm strokes are mostly used in executive chairs or manager chairs. These seats usually require a larger height adjustment space to meet the diverse needs of high-end office scenarios. For example, a manager chair may need to be compatible with office desks of different heights or meet the temporary needs of standing office. A cylinder with a 140mm stroke can provide a wider adjustment range, enhancing usage flexibility.
Cylinders with a 260mm stroke are special specifications, mainly used in scenarios such as bar stools. The seat height of a bar stool needs to match the height of the bar counter, which is usually higher than a regular office desk (approximately 70-110cm). Therefore, a longer stroke is required to achieve height compatibility. A cylinder with a 260mm stroke can raise the seat from a regular height directly to the appropriate height for a bar counter, preventing users from maintaining an uncomfortable posture for a long time due to height mismatch.
In addition, the size markings of some cylinders use parameters such as extendable height or fully extended height. For example, the adjustment range of a certain model of cylinder is 5.5 inches (approximately 14.9 centimeters), the fully extended height reaches 16.9 inches (approximately 42.9 centimeters), and the minimum length is 11.4 inches (approximately 29.9 centimeters). These marking methods focus more on the physical length changes of the cylinder rather than just the stroke distance. Users need to select the appropriate specification according to the seat design.
It should be noted that the selection of cylinder size should be comprehensively judged based on the seat type, usage scenario, and user needs. For standard office scenarios, a 100mm stroke is preferred; for high-end management positions, a 140mm stroke can be considered; and for bar or high-table scenarios, a special configuration with a 260mm stroke is required.
