Correct Installation of Office Chair
The correct installation steps for an office chair are as follows:

Install the Chair Base and Wheels
Insert the five wheels (casters) one by one into the corresponding holes on the chair base (star base), ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and secure. Pay attention to the consistency of the wheel direction to avoid uneven rolling after installation.Install the Gas Lift
Vertically insert the gas lift (pneumatic rod) into the central hole of the chair base, ensuring sufficient insertion depth and a tight fit with the base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the chair's height, so it must be installed vertically to avoid tilting and subsequent usage issues.Install the Seat Plate and Base Plate
Place the base plate on the bottom of the seat plate and secure it with four long screws. Tighten the screws to an appropriate torque to avoid a loose base plate that wobbles or overly tight screws that damage the components. The base plate usually includes adjustment mechanisms (such as height and tilt functions), and its flexibility can be checked before installation.Connect the Backrest and Seat Plate
Depending on the design, there are two common methods:
- Corner Bracket Connection: Fix the backrest and seat plate with corner brackets (metal connectors). When using screws, pay attention to the direction (e.g., "this side faces the black fabric on the back") to ensure the backrest and seat plate are aligned and not tilted.
- Tray Insertion: Insert the backrest into the tray (an extension of the base plate), then insert the entire assembled chair into the gas lift, ensuring the latch is fully locked.
- Install the Armrests
The installation method for armrests varies by model, with common steps as follows:
- Use No. 3 screws to fix the armrests to the frame (supports on both sides of the seat plate), typically requiring three screws evenly tightened.
- Or use four M625mm screws to connect the armrests to the backrest, four M630mm screws to connect the armrests to the seat cushion, two M8*25mm screws to connect the armrest supports to the armrests, and finally install decorative caps to cover the screw holes.
- When installing, align the holes on the armrests with those on the backrest and seat plate to avoid misaligned screws that could cause structural instability.
- Install the Headrest
If the chair is equipped with a headrest, use two M6*25mm screws to secure it to the top of the backrest. Tighten the screws so that the headrest can be adjusted in angle but remains secure, ensuring safety during use.
Precautions:
- Before installation, check that all components are complete to avoid discovering missing parts midway and having to disassemble and reassemble repeatedly.
- Tighten the screws to an appropriate torque; overly loose screws may cause structural looseness, while overly tight screws may damage the threads or components.
- After installation, test all functions of the chair (such as height adjustment, tilt, and armrest adjustment) to ensure there are no abnormalities before use.
