Office Chair Connection Methods

Admin October 11, 2026

The connection methods for office chairs typically involve multiple steps, requiring the sequential assembly of various components, as detailed below:

1. Install the Chair Base and Wheels
Align the wheels with the mounting holes on the chair base and press firmly to secure them in place, or insert the wheels sequentially into the pre-drilled holes on the base. Some bases may require the installation of non-slip pads or decorative covers before attaching the wheels. Ensure the wheels are firmly installed to prevent loosening, which could affect safety during use.

2. Secure the Gas Lift
Insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the chair base or directly into the pre-drilled hole on the seat plate. The gas lift is a crucial component for adjusting the seat height, so it must be installed vertically to avoid tilting, which could impair its function or damage the chair structure.

3. Assemble the Armrests and Backrest
Use four M6*25mm screws to align and secure the armrests with the corresponding holes on the backrest. Pay attention to the tightness of the screws; overly loose screws may cause the components to wobble, while overly tight screws could damage the threads or materials. Some designs may require the installation of armrest brackets before connecting the armrests and backrest with screws.

4. Connect the Armrests and Seat Cushion
Use four M6*30mm screws to tighten the lower part of the armrests with the side holes of the seat cushion. Before installation, confirm the compatibility between the seat cushion and armrests to avoid misalignment of the screw holes. Some office chairs have integrated armrests and seat cushions, allowing you to skip this step.

5. Secure the Armrest Brackets and Decorative Covers
Use two M8*25mm screws to connect the armrest brackets with the main body of the armrests and install decorative covers to conceal the screw holes. Ensure the brackets are perpendicular to the armrests to maintain the stability of the chair.

6. Install the Backrest
Secure the backrest to the seat cushion or base plate using three M8 screws. Some designs may require the installation of corner brackets (metal connectors) before attaching the backrest to the seat cushion with screws. Align the holes during installation to prevent the screws from shifting and causing the backrest to tilt.

7. Connect the Backrest and Seat
If the backrest and seat cushion are designed separately, connect them using corner brackets (L-shaped metal pieces) and screws. Corner brackets enhance structural strength; ensure an even gap between the backrest and seat during installation to maintain comfort.

8. Install the Headrest
Use two M6*25mm screws to secure the headrest to the pre-drilled holes on the backrest. Some headrests support height adjustment; before installation, confirm that the adjustment mechanism operates smoothly to prevent jamming or loosening.

9. Insert the Footrest (Optional)
If the office chair is equipped with a footrest, insert it into the dedicated hole beneath the seat cushion and confirm that the latch is securely locked. Adjust the angle of the footrest according to your needs to avoid affecting your normal sitting posture.

10. Slide the Seat onto the Gas Lift and Base Plate
Align the assembled seat portion with the top of the gas lift and gently press down to slide the base plate onto the gas lift. Ensure the holes on the gas lift and base plate are aligned to avoid forcing the components and causing damage. After installation, test the gas lift's height adjustment function to ensure it operates normally.
