Office Chair Configuration Table

Admin October 22, 2026

The configuration standards for office chairs must strictly adhere to the normative requirements regarding job rank, quantity, price, and service life, as detailed below:

1. Quantity Configuration Standards
The quantity of office chairs is allocated based on the principle of 'one chair per person,' meaning each employed individual is entitled to one office chair, with no exceeding of this upper limit. Allocation should be aligned with the actual staffing levels to prevent over-allocation or waste. For instance, if a department has 10 employed individuals, a maximum of 10 office chairs can be allocated, and no additional chairs should be provided for temporary positions or non-staff personnel.

2. Price Ceiling Standards
Price ceilings are set according to job rank:

  • Deputy department head level and above: The price of each office chair must not exceed 1,500 yuan. These positions often involve frequent official receptions or long hours of work, necessitating higher comfort and durability, hence the relatively lenient price ceiling.
  • Section chief level and below: The price of each office chair must not exceed 800 yuan. Individuals at this level primarily engage in daily office work, so the allocation should balance practicality and cost-effectiveness, avoiding excessive pursuit of high-end features.

3. Minimum Service Life Requirements
The minimum service life for office chairs is uniformly set at 15 years, and they should not be replaced before reaching this duration in principle. This regulation aims to extend the asset's lifespan and reduce resource waste caused by frequent replacements. For example, if an office chair has been in use for 10 years and remains functional, despite minor wear and tear, it should continue to be used until it reaches the 15-year mark before replacement can be requested.

4. Conservation Principles and Approval Process
Allocation should adhere to the principle of 'actual needs, conservation in use,' with strict prohibition of over-standard procurement. During actual procurement, budget arrangements and existing asset inventories should be considered, with priority given to meeting needs through reallocation. If new allocations are required, they must be reviewed by the unit's asset management department and reported to the superior financial department for record-keeping to ensure process compliance.

5. Handling of Special Circumstances
If higher-standard office chairs are required due to job specifics (such as prolonged desk work or adaptations for disabled personnel), a written explanation must be provided and approved by the unit head. However, the price ceiling should still be controlled within 1.2 times that of the same job rank category and must be separately registered and managed.
