Office Chair Configuration Table

Admin October 12, 2026

The following are the standard configurations for office chairs in central administrative units:

I. Quantity and Price Caps

  1. Quantity Limit: Office chairs are to be allocated based on staffing levels, with a standard of 1 chair per person, and no over-allocation is allowed.
  2. Price Tiers:
    • Department-level/Deputy Bureau-level and above: The price cap for each office chair is 1,500 yuan.
    • Section-level and below: The price cap for each chair is 800 yuan.
In actual procurement, if special needs (such as functional upgrades or material adaptations) require exceeding the price cap, approval procedures must be followed.

II. Service Life and Performance Requirements

  1. Minimum Service Life: Office chairs must meet a durability requirement of 15 years to ensure long-term stability in use.
  2. Material and Functional Standards:
    • Materials must adhere to the principles of simplicity, practicality, and classic durability, with the prohibition of precious woods (such as rosewood or sandalwood) or luxurious decorations (such as gold plating or carving).
    • Functional design should primarily focus on basic support, avoiding the allocation of non-standard types such as high-end ergonomic chairs or executive chairs. If such products need to be procured, industry evaluations or procurement specifications should be referenced, but their prices are not included in the administrative unit's configuration standards.

III. Matching and Combination Rules

  1. Overall Office Configuration: Department-level offices may be additionally equipped with sofas and other furniture, but these must match the level and functionality of the office chairs to avoid exceeding standards.
  2. Price Limit for Combined Furniture: If combined furniture consisting of office desks and chairs is procured, the total price must not exceed the sum of the individual asset prices. For example, the total price of department-level combined furniture must be โ‰ค (standard price of the office desk + 1,500 yuan).

IV. Handling of Special Cases

  1. Approval Process: If high-priced office chairs are required due to work needs (such as prolonged desk work or health requirements), a written application must be submitted and reviewed by the unit's financial and asset management departments before being submitted to higher authorities for approval.
  2. Market Reference: The market prices of non-standard office chairs (such as ergonomic chairs) vary significantly. It is recommended to refer to government procurement websites or industry authoritative evaluation reports, prioritizing cost-effective and ergonomic products, but clarifying that they are not included in the administrative unit's configuration standards.

Summary: The configuration of office chairs in central administrative units must strictly adhere to hierarchical standards, balancing practicality and compliance while avoiding a luxurious orientation. Special needs must be addressed through approval procedures to ensure the rational use of public resources.
