Office Chair Computer Chair Installation

Admin October 09, 2026

The installation steps for office chairs and computer chairs are as follows. Follow the sequence strictly to ensure structural stability and usage safety:

1. Base Installation
Align each caster with the mounting holes on the chair legs and press vertically until fully embedded, ensuring each caster is securely installed. Then, insert the gas lift vertically into the center hole of the chair legs, making sure the bottom of the gas lift is in tight contact with the chair legs to avoid tilting. The gas lift is the core component supporting the seat. It must be installed vertically; otherwise, the seat may wobble or the height adjustment function may fail during subsequent use.

2. Seat and Base Connection
Choose the fixing method according to the model difference:

  • Universal type: Align the base with the screw holes on the bottom of the seat. Insert the matching screws from the underside of the base into the seat and tighten them with a screwdriver until they are immovable.
  • Tray type: Adjust the tray height adjustment handle to the right side when sitting (some models have specific directional requirements). Fix the tray to the seat with 4 large screws, using a wrench to tighten the screws crosswise to ensure there are no gaps between the tray and the seat. Screws should be classified by length for use. For example, tray fixing screws are usually longer than backrest connection screws to avoid structural looseness caused by mixing them up.

3. Backrest and Seat Connection
Complete the connection using corner brackets or angle adjusters:

  • Corner bracket connection: Align the bottom of the backrest with the corner brackets at the rear of the seat. Insert the reserved screws from the side of the backrest into the corner bracket holes and tighten them until the backrest and the seat form a 90ยฐ right angle.
  • Angle adjuster connection: For some models, first unscrew the reserved screws on both sides of the backrest, insert the angle adjuster into the groove at the rear of the seat, and then reinstall and tighten the screws. The angle adjuster is a key component for adjusting the backrest tilt angle. During installation, ensure that the locking function of the angle adjuster is normal to prevent the backrest from automatically reclining.

4. Gas Lift and Base Assembly
Vertically align the seat (including the base or tray) with the top of the gas lift and slowly press down until fully embedded. Keep the seat level during this step to avoid damaging the internal seals of the gas lift due to tilting, which may affect the lifespan of the height adjustment function.

5. Armrest and Headrest Installation

  • Armrests: Fix the armrests to the reserved holes on both sides of the seat with 8 large screws. Tighten the screws symmetrically to ensure the armrests are at the same height and do not wobble.
  • Headrest: Insert the headrest bracket into the slot at the top of the backrest. A clicking sound indicates that it is properly installed (some models may require screws for fixation).

6. Detail Adjustments
Install decorative covers, end caps, and other components. For some models, use small screws to fix the decorative covers to cover the screw holes. Finally, adjust the lumbar support position, armrest angle, and seat height according to personal needs to ensure smooth operation of all functional components. After installation, check that all screws are tightened to avoid rattling or structural damage during use due to looseness.
