I. Compilation of the Group Standard 'Office Furniture - Office Chairs'

• Task Source: This standard was proposed by the Shenzhen Furniture Industry Association in accordance with the specific requirements of the 'Regulations on the Administration of Group Standards' and the 'Shenzhen Group Standard Management Measures' issued by the National Standardization Management Committee and the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2019. It was included in the 2020 group standard formulation and revision project plan.
• Purpose and Significance of Formulation: With the development of the economy and society and the continuous progress of the technology industry, the original requirements for office chairs have failed to keep pace with their development. Many indicators can no longer meet current usage requirements. The formulation of this group standard aims to guide the healthy development of the office chair industry.
• Main Work Process: The project was officially approved on January 14, 2020, and included in the first batch of group standard formulation projects for that year. After approval, the Shenzhen Furniture Research and Development Institute convened and established a standard drafting group to study the characteristics and actual conditions of office chairs, investigate relevant standards at home and abroad, and hold multiple seminars to determine the standard framework and form a draft. On March 2, 2020, standardization experts and enterprise experts were invited to provide technical guidance on the standard, offering opinions and suggestions. Based on these, the standard drafting group revised and improved the standard content, forming a draft for public comment.
• Compilation Principles: The standard adheres to the principles of normativity, applicability, and operability, and is compiled in accordance with the requirements and regulations of GB/T 1.1-2009 'Directives for Standardization - Part 1: Structure and Drafting of Standards'.

II. Allocation Standards for Office Chairs in Different Administrative Units

• Central Administrative Units: When allocating office furniture, full consideration should be given to the office layout, adhering to the requirements of simplicity and practicality. Luxury furniture should not be allocated, and precious wood should not be used.
• Provincial Administrative Units: For bureau-level office chairs, the price ceiling is 1,500 yuan per chair, with a physical quantity standard of 1 set per person. For division-level and below office chairs, the price ceiling is 800 yuan per chair, with a physical quantity standard of 1 set per person. The service life standard for both is 15 years.
