Office Chair Cleaning and Water Washing
Office chair cleaning and water washing should follow scientific steps to ensure cleaning effectiveness and avoid damaging the material. The specific operations are as follows:

1. Pre-treatment: Remove dust from the surface and crevices Before cleaning, pre-sort the office chair and focus on removing dust and particulate matter. Use a vacuum cleaner (equipped with a crevice attachment) to thoroughly vacuum the seat, backrest, armrests, and other areas, paying special attention to the crevice areas of mesh office chairs. If the dust is not completely removed, it may penetrate into the fibers during subsequent cleaning, causing stains to spread or remain. For stubborn particles, gently brush the surface with a soft-bristled brush to avoid scratching the material.
2. Cleaning agent treatment: Penetrate stains and separate them Dilute a neutral cleaning agent according to the ratio and pour it into a spray bottle. Spray it evenly over the seat surface. The cleaning agent should cover all stained areas and penetrate deep into the fibers. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the surfactants in the cleaning agent to break down stains (such as oil stains and sweat stains) and soften stubborn dirt. Note: Avoid using strong acid or strong alkali cleaning agents to prevent corrosion of the material or fading; for leather office chairs, use a dedicated leather cleaning agent.
3. Deep cleaning: Choose methods according to the material
- Mesh office chairs: Deep cleaning of the fibers is required. A combination of "brushing + water circulation" can be used: first, gently brush along the fiber direction with a soft-bristled brush, and then use a fabric cleaning machine (equipped with a high-pressure water spray function) to rinse in a cycle, ensuring that the dirty water is promptly drawn out. If the stains are heavy, alternate between using a sauna machine (high-temperature steam to soften stains) and a high-temperature cleaning machine to extract and wash at least twice, or directly use steam for deep cleaning, which also has a sterilizing and disinfecting effect.
- Fabric office chairs: Focus on treating local stains. For obvious stains (such as coffee stains and ink), first spray the cleaning agent locally, gently pat and absorb with a damp cloth, and then clean the whole chair.
- Leather office chairs: Avoid water washing. Wipe with a slightly damp soft cloth dipped in a leather cleaning agent, focusing on cleaning the creases, and finally polish with a dry cloth.
4. Absorb moisture: Speed up drying and prevent mildew During the cleaning process, simultaneously use the water absorption function of a water absorber or a fabric cleaning machine to quickly draw out the deep-seated dirty water. If professional equipment is not available, repeatedly press and absorb with a clean towel to avoid deforming the fibers by rubbing vigorously. Key point: Moisture retention will prolong the drying time, increase the risk of bacterial growth, and may even cause the leather to crack or the mesh to mildew. After cleaning, place the chair in a well-ventilated area to dry naturally and avoid direct sunlight.
Precautions: Incomplete cleaning for the first time may cause stains to solidify, increasing the difficulty of subsequent cleaning; cleaning agent residue can harm health (such as causing skin allergies) and affect the lifespan of the material. It is recommended to clean every 3-6 months and adjust the cycle according to the frequency of use.
