Office Chair Cleaning Tips
Admin October 11, 2026
Here are the key points for cleaning office chairs:

I. Overall Wiping Process
When wiping the chair, follow the order of backrest โ seat cushion โ armrests โ legs, cleaning from top to bottom one by one to ensure no omission. The cloth must be slightly damp and not dripping to prevent moisture penetration, which can cause dampness or water stains. After wiping, a dry cloth can be used for secondary treatment to speed up drying.
II. Cleaning Methods for Different Materials
- Genuine Leather Office Chairs
Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe along the leather grain. Avoid using rough tools (such as steel wool) or cleaners containing alcohol or strong acids and bases to prevent the leather from cracking or fading. For stubborn stains, apply a small amount of specialized leather cleaner in dots, let it dry naturally, and then polish with a dry cloth. - Mesh Fabric Office Chairs
Preferably use a neutral foam cleaner or a specialized mesh fabric cleaner, and gently brush the surface stains with a soft, fine-bristled toothbrush. After cleaning, use facial tissue to absorb residual moisture and avoid direct sunlight to prevent the mesh fabric from aging and becoming brittle. For deep cleaning, the seat cushion can be removed and rinsed with water, but ensure it is completely dry before reassembling. - PU Material Office Chairs
The PU parts such as the seat armrests can be wiped with a slightly damp towel, and most stains can be removed. For maintenance, a leather brightener can be evenly applied to enhance the surface gloss and stain resistance. Be careful to avoid using oily cleaners to prevent the PU material from becoming sticky.
III. Cleaning and Maintenance of Casters
- Hair Entanglement Handling
Trim directly with small scissors or use the 3-step disassembly method: Turn the chair upside down and pull out the casters (use a screwdriver to gently pry for snap-on types), use tweezers to remove hair from the gaps, dip an old toothbrush in neutral detergent to brush the surface, rinse with water, and then dry. - Dirt Cleaning
Wrap the convex side of a dried face towel around the wheel, secure it with a rubber band, and move the chair to remove dirt through friction. Repeat the operation until the face towel shows no significant dirt, and then wipe the floor with a damp cloth. - Daily Maintenance
Stick invisible tape on the surface of the casters to prevent slipping and dirt. Clean them once a month and lubricate regularly. When lubricating,ๆปด (Note: This Chinese character means 'drip' in English, but in context, it should be followed by the action) 1-2 drops of specialized lubricating oil onto the bearing, rotate the casters to evenly distribute the oil, and prevent the bearing from getting stuck or deformed.
Precautions: Before cleaning, confirm the material label of the office chair to avoid misusing cleaners; after cleaning, ensure all parts are completely dry before use to prevent mildew.
