Office Chair Cleaning and Maintenance
The cleaning and maintenance of office chairs should be carried out from three aspects: surface cleaning, wheel maintenance, and overall deep cleaning.

Chair Surface Cleaning
Clean the chair back, seat cushion, armrests, and legs in order from top to bottom, ensuring no omissions. The cloth should be kept slightly damp and not dripping to prevent moisture from seeping into the material, causing dampness or water stains, and damaging the surface material. For surfaces of different materials, appropriate cleaning agents can be selected: for leather surfaces, it is recommended to use a dedicated leather cleaner that can both remove dirt and maintain the material; for fabric surfaces, a neutral cleaner can be used to prevent chemical substances from damaging the fiber structure.
Wheel Cleaning and Maintenance
- Disassemble the wheels: Turn the office chair upside down and gently pull out the wheels by holding the wheel bracket with your hand (no tools required for snap-on designs). If the wheels are stuck, use a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth to pry the edge of the snap-on to remove it, avoiding scratches on the bracket.
- Remove debris: Use tweezers to pick out hair and debris from the gaps in the wheels (operate in the direction of rotation), then use an old toothbrush dipped in neutral detergent to scrub the surface and bearing gaps to remove dust and grease. Finally, rinse with water (avoid getting water into the bearings) and wipe dry, then air dry for 10 minutes.
- Lubricate and reassemble: Apply 1-2 drops of dedicated lubricant for office equipment to the bearings and rotate the wheels to evenly distribute the lubricant; align the wheels with the bracket snap-ons and push them in until you hear a 'click' to confirm they are securely installed; turn the chair upright and push to test. If there is still stuttering, check for residual debris.
- Daily maintenance: Clean once a month and avoid placing heavy objects on the wheels to prevent bearing deformation. For hair entanglement issues, use small scissors to trim or wrap a damp face towel around the wheels and move back and forth to clean; you can also stick invisible tape on the wheels to reduce dirt adhesion and floor contamination.
Overall Deep Cleaning
Stains on mesh office chairs can easily penetrate into the interior, and simply wiping the surface is not enough for thorough cleaning. It is necessary to go through processes such as scrubbing, pre-treatment, focused stain treatment, water circulation cleaning, and steam deep cleaning and sterilization to completely remove deep-seated dirt and bacteria, restoring the chair's cleanliness and hygiene.
