Office Chair Cleaning and Disinfection
Office chair cleaning and disinfection can be carried out in two steps: cleaning and disinfection. The specific methods are as follows:

Cleaning Steps
Overall Dust Removal
Use a duster to initially remove dust, and then use a vacuum cleaner with fabric attachments and crevice tools to thoroughly clean the backrest, seat cushion, armrests, legs, and wheels of the chair. If crevice tools are lacking, compressed air can be used to blow out debris from hard-to-reach crevices.Wiping Clean
- Cleaner Selection Based on Material: Check the chair's care label to select a cleaner. Warm water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid is suitable for most materials; a label marked 'S' requires dry-cleaning solvent, 'W' requires a water-based solvent, 'SW/S/W' allows either, 'X' requires professional cleaning, and 'C' requires an enzyme detergent. Test in an inconspicuous area before use to avoid damaging the material.
- Seat Cushion Treatment: Place the cleaner in a spray bottle or dip a clean cloth into it, and gently pat the surface of the seat cushion (do not wipe) to ensure coverage without excessive wetting.
- Armrest and Leg Cleaning: Wipe with a damp cloth, and use a diluted solution of water and dishwashing soap for stubborn stains.
- Wheel Cleaning
- Wheel Removal: Depending on the structure, pull or unscrew the wheels directly. Use a butter knife to scrape out large debris (such as food crumbs or stones) stuck in the wheels.
- Deep Cleaning: Wipe the wheels with a damp, soapy cloth to remove stains. For stubborn hair, cut it with scissors and remove it with tweezers; when cleaning the crevice between the wheel and its cover, use a damp cotton swab to wipe along the crack.
- Convenient Method: Wet a face towel and let it air dry slightly, then wrap it around the wheels using the textured side and secure it with a rubber band. Move the chair back and forth to transfer dirt to the face towel.
- Rinsing and Drying
- Rinsing Residue: If the chair is washable, wipe off soap residue with a clean, damp cloth, and then dry the armrests, legs, and seat cover with a dry cloth.
- Drying Treatment: Place the seat cushion in a well-ventilated area to air dry naturally, or use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process; if a dry-cleaning solvent is used, follow the product instructions to determine whether rinsing is necessary.
Disinfection Steps
Item and Protective Equipment Preparation
Prepare cleaning cloths, disinfecting cloths, a covered disinfection bucket, clean water, gloves, masks, and work clothes. Wear protective equipment before operation to avoid cross-contamination.Wiping Order and Specifications
Wipe in the order of seat surface โ backrest โ chair legs โ chair edges (front edge last). Turn the cloth over after wiping each part to ensure full coverage. Wipe from top to bottom with force, and change the cloth face after wiping each chair leg to prevent the cloth from falling to the ground.
