Office Chair Cleaning

Admin October 08, 2026

Office chair cleaning can be divided into two parts: wheel cleaning and overall deep cleaning. The specific methods are as follows:

I. Office Chair Wheel Cleaning

  1. Basic Hair Removal

    • Use very small scissors or tweezers to carefully remove hair, fibers, and other debris wrapped around the wheels, avoiding damage to the wheel structure.
    • If the hair is tightly wrapped, first insert needle-nose pliers into the slot beneath the wheel and gently pry the edge of the clip (some wheels are designed with clips), then gradually remove the debris once loosened.
  2. Surface Dirt Wiping

    • Wet a used face towel and let it air dry, then wrap the wheel with the textured side and secure it with a rubber band.
    • Sit on the chair and move back and forth to create friction between the wheel and the face towel, repeating multiple times to remove surface dirt.
    • Alternatively, use an old toothbrush dipped in a small amount of neutral detergent to gently brush the wheel surface and bearing gaps, removing residual dust and oil stains. Finally, rinse with water (avoid getting water into the bearings), dry, and air dry for 10 minutes.
  3. Deep Disassembly Cleaning (for stubborn stains)

    • Disassemble the wheels: Turn the office chair upside down and gently pull out the wheel bracket by hand (no tools are needed for clip-on designs; if stuck, use a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth to pry the edge).
    • Remove debris: Use tweezers to pick out long hair and fibers from the gaps, following the direction of wheel rotation; use a toothbrush to scrub the surface and bearing gaps to remove dust and oil stains.
    • Lubricate and reassemble: Apply 1-2 drops of special lubricant for office equipment to the bearings and rotate the wheels to distribute the lubricant evenly; align the wheels with the bracket clips and push in until you hear a 'click' to confirm secure installation; turn the chair upright and test by pushing; if there is still stuttering, check for residual debris.

II. Overall Deep Cleaning of Office Chair

  1. Comprehensive Vacuuming

    • Use a vacuum cleaner equipped with a soft-bristle brush head to clean dust and debris from the seat, backrest, and gaps, avoiding dust accumulation that can damage the material.
  2. Professional Foam Cleaning

    • Spray a special foam cleaner for office chairs, covering the seat and backrest, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the cleaner to penetrate the fibers and decompose deep stains.
  3. High-Temperature Disinfection

    • Use a high-temperature steam device (such as a garment steamer) to disinfect the seat surface, maintaining a distance of 10-15 cm to avoid high-temperature damage to the material; or use a UV disinfection lamp for more than 30 minutes (ensure no one is present).

Precautions: Before cleaning, confirm the material of the office chair (such as leather, mesh, plastic) to avoid using corrosive cleaners; choose a special lubricant to prevent bearing rust or dust absorption.
