Office Chair Clay Making

Admin October 08, 2026

There are multiple methods for making office chairs out of clay. Here are some common and detailed ways to do it:

Cute Sofa Chair

First, take yellow clay and press it into a thick round cake as the base of the chair seat. Then, roll it into a long strip, flatten it, and adjust its curvature and shape. After that, combine these two parts. Next, use cotton swabs to cut out four small sticks to mark the positions of the chair legs, and then insert toothpicks for fine-tuning to ensure the chair legs are stable. Then, mix light yellow clay, roll it into a ball, flatten it, and use a brush to create textures for a more realistic look. Afterward, roll the light yellow clay into a thin sheet, cut out a rectangle, and press stripes on it to create the pattern of a blanket. Finally, combine the light yellow and white balls, adjust their shapes, and attach them to the chair to add some decorative elements to the sofa chair.

Small Chair with Rabbit Ears and Bow Decoration

First, take white clay and roll it into a ball, then flatten it to make a round or square seat. Next, roll three balls of white clay and then into thick strips to serve as the chair legs. Mix red and white clay to make pink, and roll three smaller balls to attach to the lower ends of the chair legs as decorations. Then, divide the pink clay into two parts, roll them into long, thin, teardrop shapes, flatten them, bend them, and combine them to form ear shapes. Next, roll thin strips of white clay and attach them to the inner sides of the ears to create the effect of rabbit ears. After that, roll the pink clay into thin strips, wrap them around the upper edge of the chair, and use a tool to create a scalloped edge. Use a black pen to draw the eyes and mouth of a little rabbit, and attach small blush patches to make the chair more vivid. Finally, roll two small, teardrop-shaped pieces of pink clay, flatten them, roll small balls of white clay, combine them to form bows, and attach them to the chair to complete the decoration.

Personalized Seat

You can cut out the shape of the seat using density board or other hard materials, such as a front width of 5 cm, side widths of 3 - 4 cm, and a height of 9 cm, or you can directly shape it with clay. If a backrest is needed, first draw the shape on paper and cut it out. Then, wrap the hard backrest model with rolled-out thin clay, making sure it is thicker in the middle and thinner on the sides. Next, use molds or shape the chair legs by hand, such as cylindrical or square shapes, and attach them to the bottom of the seat. Finally, decorate the edges with golden clay strips or paint the seat to add details and enhance its aesthetics.
