Office Chair Chassis Welding

Admin October 12, 2026

The methods and key points for welding office chair chassis vary depending on the material.

Metal Chassis Welding

For metal office chair chassis, specialized welding mechanisms or devices are usually required. For example, there is an office chair base welding mechanism consisting of a frame, hydraulic lifting device, hydraulic rod, mounting plate, welder, welding torch, processing table, drive motor, and material-feeding turntable. The hydraulic lifting device is fixed at the top of the frame and drives the mounting plate up or down via the hydraulic rod. The welder is mounted at the bottom of the mounting plate, with the welding torch installed at the bottom of the welder. The processing table is fixed inside the frame, with a drive motor installed at the bottom. The output shaft of the drive motor is connected to the material-feeding turntable, which has wheels at the bottom that slide along a circular groove on the top of the processing table. During welding, the drive motor rotates the material-feeding turntable beneath the two welding torches, enabling precise positioning and welding of each chair leg of the office chair base, ensuring comprehensive and accurate welding.

There is also an office chair base welding device that includes components such as a housing, workbench, first motor, turntable, moving plate, welding box, hydraulic rod, fourth motor, and grinding discs. The first motor is installed at the bottom of the workbench, with its output end connected to the turntable, on which the office chair wheels, footrests, and base are placed. Inside the housing, the moving plate has a welding box and hydraulic rod mounted below it, with a welding torch installed beneath the welding box and a fourth motor installed beneath the hydraulic rod. The output end of the fourth motor is equipped with grinding discs. After completing the welding of the office chair base, this device can use the grinding mechanism to grind the welds, reducing the need for manual weld grinding, shortening processing time, and improving production efficiency. When performing metal chassis welding, safety must be a top priority. Operators should wear protective gear such as face shields and gloves to prevent injury from sparks and high temperatures generated during welding.

Plastic Chassis Repair

If the office chair chassis is made of plastic and has cracked, AB glue can be applied to the crack, followed by reinforcing it with metal sheets or carbon fiber cloth, and then performing relevant treatments. However, it should be noted that the load-bearing capacity of a repaired plastic chassis is limited, generally not exceeding 100kg to avoid safety issues such as re-fracturing.
