Office Chair Challenge
The "Office Chair Challenge" mainly has two forms: the continuous spinning challenge on an office chair and the "Chair Trapping Challenge", both of which carry certain risks.

Continuous Spinning Challenge on an Office Chair
This is a relatively common form of challenge where participants attempt to spin continuously in circles on an office chair. During the spinning process, due to the effect of centrifugal force and the stimulation of the inner ear vestibular system, participants may feel dizzy or even vomit if the spinning speed is too fast or the chair is unstable. This challenge may seem simple and fun, but it actually tests the body's sense of balance and vestibular function. Moreover, if the chair is of poor quality or the spinning speed is too fast, it may also lead to chair damage or the participant falling and getting injured.
"Chair Trapping Challenge"
This is an online challenge that has spread on the internet, where the specific practice is to insert both legs into the armrests of the chair or insert the head and arms into a plastic stool. Most participants get stuck during the attempt and find it difficult to free themselves. For example, on July 10, 2026, a primary-to-secondary school student in Huai'an, Jiangsu, got both legs stuck in the empty slot of the office chair armrests and had to be rescued by firefighters in about 2 minutes. This challenge may seem to prove the body's flexibility or is simply for attracting traffic, but it actually carries significant safety risks. On the one hand, being stuck may lead to poor local blood circulation in the body, causing discomfort such as pain and numbness; on the other hand, if stuck for too long, it may also cause more serious harm to the body, such as muscle strains and nerve damage.
Both the continuous spinning challenge on an office chair and the "Chair Trapping Challenge" carry certain risks, and it is not recommended that everyone try them lightly. When engaging in any challenge activities, one should fully consider their own safety and health to avoid unnecessary harm caused by momentary curiosity or the pursuit of excitement.
