Office Chair Caster Version

Admin October 19, 2026

The design of the office chair caster version focuses on enhancing mobility convenience and scenario adaptability, meeting diverse needs through differentiated combinations of caster types, materials, and functional features.

In terms of caster types, the mainstream design features a universal wheel structure, with the core advantage of supporting 360ยฐ horizontal rotation. Paired with a smooth rolling surface, it enables free movement in multiple directions. This design significantly reduces the frequency of standing up in office scenarios due to adjusting sitting positions or retrieving items, making it particularly suitable for open office environments that require frequent switching of work areas. For specific scenario needs, some versions adopt silent caster technology. By wrapping the wheel body surface with high-density rubber or polyurethane (PU) material and combining it with a precision bearing structure, the noise generated by rolling friction is controlled below 30 decibels, effectively avoiding interference with focused work or meeting scenarios.

Regarding material selection, the caster versions strictly distinguish between ground adaptability. For hard floors (such as tiles and wooden floors), PU wheels are required. Their elastic modulus is precisely adjusted to ensure smooth rolling while dispersing pressure through deformation, preventing scratches caused by direct wheel-to-ground contact. Experimental data shows that the pressure exerted by PU wheels on wooden floors under standard loads can be reduced to below 0.2 MPa, well below the hardness threshold of the floor surface. For carpeted scenarios, nylon wheels are used. The diamond-shaped patterns distributed on their surface increase friction with the fibers, preventing slippage. Meanwhile, the wear resistance of nylon material is more than three times that of ordinary plastic, extending the service life of the casters.

At the functional feature level, the caster design achieves efficiency improvements through mechanical structure optimization. For example, some high-end versions adopt a dual-bearing structure, reducing rolling resistance to below 0.5 N, allowing for long-distance sliding with a single light push. Some products also integrate a braking device, controlling wheel locking through foot pedals or hand dials to meet precision operation scenarios that require a fixed sitting position. These designs collectively constitute the core value of the caster version: while ensuring mobility freedom, they achieve a balance of scenario adaptability, durability, and silence through the synergistic effects of materials and structures.
