Disassembly of Office Chair Casters
The disassembly method for office chair casters should be selected based on their fixed structural type. Here are the common types and disassembly steps:

Disassembly of Snap-fit Casters
These casters are fixed to the frame with plastic snaps. When disassembling, prioritize protecting the frame surface. Step 1: Flip the office chair upside down, ensuring the floor is level to prevent the chair legs from sliding. At the same time, use a soft cloth or foam pad to protect the chair's fabric from scratches or indentations. Step 2: Grasp both sides of the caster frame with your hands and pull the caster out evenly. If the snap is too tight and the caster cannot be pulled out directly, use tools for assistance: Wrap a flat-head screwdriver with a soft cloth and gently pry the edge of the snap (avoid direct contact with the metal frame) to loosen it through slight vibrations. Alternatively, use a flat-blade screwdriver to lightly tap the connection between the caster and the frame. After it loosens, use a hammer or other tool to lightly tap the top of the caster and gradually separate it completely. Precautions: Control the force during operation to avoid excessive force causing frame deformation or snap breakage.
Disassembly of Circlip Rod Structure
The circlip rod is fixed in the frame hole with an elastic circlip. Disassembly requires using a special tool to break the locked state of the circlip. Step 1: Select a flat-head screwdriver or a special circlip plier and insert the tip of the tool into the gap between the circlip and the frame. Step 2: Use the lever principle to pry the circlip forcefully, making it detach from the frame's slot (this process requires continuous application of pressure until the circlip pops out completely). Step 3: After the circlip loosens, pull out the old rod directly. Risk Warning: Disassembling the circlip rod requires a significant amount of force. If the tool is not selected properly or the operating angle is off, it may cause the edge of the frame hole to deform, affecting subsequent installation.
Disassembly of Threaded Type
Threaded casters are fixed to the frame by rotation. Disassembly requires using a small wrench or an adjustable wrench. Step 1: Insert the small wrench into the nut or threaded interface at the bottom of the caster to ensure the tool fully engages with the thread. Step 2: Rotate the wrench counterclockwise (to the left) to gradually loosen the threaded connection. Step 3: After the thread is completely detached, remove the caster directly. Key Points: Keep the wrench stable during rotation to avoid slipping and scratching the thread. If the thread is rusted, spray a small amount of lubricant (such as WD-40) to assist in disassembly.
General Advice: Before disassembly, observe the connection method between the caster and the frame and choose the corresponding method first. Wear gloves during operation to protect your hands from metal parts. After disassembly, check if there are any residual circlips or thread debris in the frame hole and clean them before installing new casters.
