Office Chair Caster Assembly

Admin October 12, 2026

There are mainly two ways to assemble office chair casters, namely the insertion type and the screw-in type. Here is a detailed introduction for you:

Insertion-type Assembly

This is the most common way to assemble office chair casters, and most office chair casters adopt this design. The operation is relatively simple. Before assembly, you need to prepare the five-star base and the casters of the office chair that need to be assembled. Place the five-star base steadily on the ground or a workbench to ensure it is in a stable state and avoid shaking or tipping over during the assembly process. Then, pick up a caster and observe the insertion rod part of the caster and the interface on the five-star base. Align the insertion rod of the caster with the interface on the five-star base, apply a certain amount of pressure slightly, and insert it vertically downward. During the insertion process, pay attention to maintaining the perpendicularity between the insertion rod and the interface to avoid the insertion rod failing to be inserted smoothly or damaging the interface due to angular deviation. When you hear a 'click' sound or feel that the caster has been firmly installed on the five-star base, it means the insertion is successful. You can gently shake the caster to check if it is installed firmly. If the caster does not loosen or shake, it indicates that the caster has been correctly assembled. Follow the same method to assemble the other casters onto the five-star base one by one to complete the insertion-type assembly of the entire set of office chair casters.

Screw-in-type Assembly

Some office chair casters adopt a screw-in design. First, place the five-star base as usual, and then pick up a caster. At this time, the connecting part of the caster usually has threads. Align the threaded end of the caster with the threaded interface on the five-star base, and then slowly rotate the caster clockwise. During the rotation process, maintain an appropriate amount of force to avoid damaging the threads due to excessive force. As the rotation continues, the caster will gradually be screwed into the five-star base. When the caster can no longer rotate and is installed firmly, it means the screw-in is successful. Similarly, after assembling one caster, screw the other casters into the five-star base one by one in the same way to complete the screw-in-type assembly of the office chair casters.
