Office Chair Carpet PVC
Admin October 10, 2026
PVC carpets are made primarily of polyvinyl chloride and its copolymer resins, offering unique advantages in office environments, but also come with some drawbacks.

Advantages
- High Wear Resistance: The square carpet structure, featuring polypropylene fiber as the surface layer and PVC as the base layer, is a mature solution for meeting the wear resistance needs in office environments. Polypropylene fiber has excellent wear resistance, good elongation at break, and resilience, making it less prone to pilling or breaking under frequent foot traffic. It can withstand tens of thousands of wear cycles, easily meeting the normal usage needs of office areas for 3 - 5 years or more.
- Good Slip Resistance: The surface friction coefficient of polypropylene fiber is moderate, and combined with a dense weaving process, it effectively reduces the risk of slipping for personnel walking on it. This is particularly important in open office areas, corridors, and other areas with high foot traffic.
- Reduced Edge Curling Issues: In offices, where there is frequent movement of people, pushing and pulling of desks and chairs, and high-heeled shoe traffic, the friction and compression on carpets are intense. The PVC base is highly resilient and, compared to asphalt bases, can reduce issues such as carpet edge curling, maintaining the carpet's flatness and aesthetics.
Disadvantages
- Raw Material Aging and Chemical Residue Issues: The raw material of PVC carpets, PVC, may experience aging problems. As the usage time increases, the performance of the carpet may gradually decline. At the same time, there may be chemical residues in PVC raw materials, which could have certain impacts on human health and the environment.
- Pollution Issues During the Production Process: During the production of PVC carpets, pollutants such as particulate matter and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) may be generated. These pollutants not only pollute the production environment but may also be released into indoor air during use, affecting indoor air quality and posing potential hazards to human health.
