Office Chair Cannot Be Fixed
If your office chair cannot be fixed, you can try the following solutions:

1. Replace the wheels with locking functions If the inability to fix the office chair is due to its wheel design, you can prioritize replacing the wheels with those that have locking functions. These types of wheels usually have a toggleable locking device at the bottom. When you need to fix the chair's position, toggle the locking device down to stop the wheels from turning; when you need to move the chair, toggle the locking device up to restore the wheels' rolling function. This solution is simple to operate and has a relatively low cost. It is suitable for most ordinary office chairs and can effectively solve the problem of the chair being unable to be fixed due to wheel sliding.
2. Use fixed foot pads Fixed foot pads are accessories specifically designed to prevent chair movement. When using them, take the fixed foot pads out of the packaging and insert them into the wheel positions at the bottom of the chair, replacing the original wheels. The bottoms of fixed foot pads are usually made of anti-slip materials, which can increase the friction with the ground and thus effectively prevent the chair from moving. This solution is especially suitable for use in families or office spaces with elderly people or children. It can improve safety and avoid accidental falls caused by chair sliding.
3. Repair the hydraulic system If the office chair cannot be fixed due to problems with the hydraulic system, for example, if the hydraulic rod cannot maintain a fixed height, it may be due to damaged transmission components or loose screws. In this case, first check the transmission components of the hydraulic system to see if there are any obvious damages or wear. If you find that the screws are damaged, such as non-standard screws, you can try replacing them with standard No. 10 screws and ensure that the screws are installed firmly without obstructing the normal movement of the hydraulic rod. Repairing the hydraulic system requires a certain amount of hands-on ability and professional knowledge. If you are unsure how to operate, it is recommended to seek the help of professional repair personnel.
4. Use hose clamps or PVC pipes For situations where the chair height slides down and cannot be fixed due to cylinder problems, you can use hose clamps or PVC pipes for temporary fixing. Wrap the hose clamp around the cylinder and adjust the tightness of the hose clamp to fix the cylinder and prevent the chair height from sliding down; or choose a PVC pipe of an appropriate size and put it over the cylinder, which can also have a certain fixing effect. This method is relatively simple to operate, but it may affect the aesthetics of the chair, and the fixing effect may not be as stable as the previous methods.
