Office Chair Brush

Admin October 08, 2026

The 'brushing' of office chairs mainly involves cleaning and painting operations during refurbishment, as detailed below:

In terms of cleaning, different materials of office chairs require different 'brushing' methods. For velvet office chairs, if there are local stains, a soft-bristled brush should be used in conjunction with treatment. First, add a neutral detergent to warm water, dip a soft cloth into it, and wring it out to ensure the cloth is damp but not dripping. Then, use the soft-bristled brush to dip into the damp cloth and gently press and wipe the stained area. Be careful to avoid vigorous back-and-forth rubbing to prevent damage to the velvet surface. Mesh office chairs can be cleaned deeply without water using a specialized cleaning agent, without the need for vigorous brushing with a brush to avoid damaging the mesh structure. Leather chairs also have waterless leather stain removal cleaning agents that can be directly sprayed onto the stains and wiped clean with a soft, clean cloth, generally without the need for a brush in the cleaning process.

In terms of refurbishment painting, taking rattan office chairs as an example, when painting is required, if the surface of the rattan chair is electroplated or spray-painted, it needs to be sanded first to make the surface rough, which can enhance the adhesion of the paint and prevent it from peeling off later. For chromium parts, they should be thoroughly cleaned, and a woven brush can be used for detailed cleaning, or an impregnation process can be employed to ensure the surface is free of impurities and prevent the paint layer from peeling off. When painting, maintain a well-ventilated environment and strictly prohibit open flames, as paint is a flammable substance. The natural bristle brush used must be kept dry; if the brush is damp, it will affect the painting effect of the paint. At the same time, adjust the consistency of the paint to a moderate state; if it is too thin, the paint will run, and if it is too thick, it will be difficult to paint evenly. In addition, prioritize the use of environmentally friendly latex paint. If using products such as metal paint that contain high levels of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), operate in a well-ventilated environment and wear protective gear such as masks and gloves to reduce harm to the human body.
