Broken Office Chair Recycling

Admin October 12, 2026

The recycling prices for broken office chairs vary significantly, primarily influenced by factors such as material, brand, design, and recycling channel, with price ranges spanning from a few yuan to over a thousand yuan.

When recycling office chairs as scrap, common models like ordinary iron-framed chairs and plastic chairs fetch relatively low prices. Each chair typically costs between 1-4 yuan, with some regions pricing by weight. For instance, in Shandong, the purchase price is approximately 1-1.5 yuan per kilogram, while in Haikou, extremely old office iron-framed chairs may fetch around a dozen yuan each. This type of recycling focuses mainly on the material itself, disregarding the chair's usage value, hence the low prices.

Through second-hand trading channels, ordinary damaged home or office chairs, due to their limited usage value, can only be sold for a few yuan to several dozen yuan. However, if the chair is made of high-quality materials, such as solid wood like oak or walnut, and features fine carvings or a vintage design, even if damaged, it can be repaired and sold for 200-800 yuan after restoration. Additionally, design styles popular in the vintage market, such as Nordic or Chinese classical, or old chairs from well-known brands, may fetch over a thousand yuan due to brand influence or unique design, even if damaged.

Through online recycling platforms like AiHuiShou, the recycling price for each chair ranges from approximately 50-300 yuan, depending on the material. These platforms usually have a standardized evaluation system that provides relatively reasonable prices based on factors such as the chair's material and condition.

Recycling services are also available in different regions, with varying prices and service contents. For example, in Shijingshan, Beijing, a recycling company offers free on-site evaluations and provides transparent quotes based on the chair's brand, material, and condition. Some recyclers in Shenzhen explicitly state that they do not accept worn-out furniture and mainly recycle rosewood furniture, air conditioners, and office furniture. In Wuhan, recyclers offer on-site recycling services, including office chair recycling. Therefore, when choosing a recycling channel, it is advisable to first understand the local market situation and the services offered by recyclers to obtain a more reasonable recycling price.
