Office Chair Brand Development
The development of office chair brands shows a trend of competition between established and emerging brands, but in different arenas.

Established Brands: The global ergonomic office chair market is primarily dominated by leading brands with decades or even over a century of history, such as Steelcase Gesture, Herman Miller Sayl Chair, Kimball Office, and Okamura Corporation. These brands mostly focus on the broader category of home furniture, with ergonomic office chairs being just one of many product lines. While their product ranges are extensive, the concentration on ergonomic office chairs is relatively low. Leveraging their profound historical heritage and technological accumulation, these brands hold a solid position among high-end customers, with products often characterized by high quality, classic design, and brand premium.
Emerging Brands: In recent years, a number of emerging brands focusing on more niche scenarios have rapidly risen. Examples include Branch furniture, founded in 2018; Sihoo (Xihao), a Guangdong-based brand that saw its GMV increase 40-fold in three years; and Libernovo (Livorno), which raised $7 million in crowdfunding in less than two months after its launch. These brands mostly center around office scenarios and deeply cultivate the ergonomic office chair market, targeting a more diverse and widespread consumer base. In terms of unit price, emerging brands offer more "friendly" cost-effectiveness. For instance, Sihoo's flagship model sells for around $340 on Amazon, Branch furniture's popular products are also in the $300 price range, while Libernovo's products are slightly more premium, with early-bird crowdfunding prices approaching $700.
Development Characteristics: Emerging brands place a stronger emphasis on "ergonomics," taking ergonomic self-adaptation as the core of their design, supplemented by aesthetic design. For example, Sihoo features a two-piece adjustable lumbar support + armrests that form a dynamic system with the overall chair, supporting multi-dimensional adjustments based on user habits and stages; HBADA has innovatively divided the back support system into three zones with its unique wing-shaped lumbar support. Livorno, on the other hand, has its own design team and production facility, forming an integrated model of research and development, manufacturing, and sales. Its product range includes intelligent office chairs, executive chairs, home computer chairs, and more, constantly introducing innovative features such as three-level adjustable seat ventilation and stepless adjustable backrest design.
