Brackets for Office Chairs
There are various types of brackets for office chairs, mainly including back frame brackets, footrests, and elastic brackets, which differ in material, function, and design.

Back Frame Brackets
Back frame brackets are key components that support the back structure of an office chair, directly affecting sitting comfort and back support. A common type is a black plastic backrest frame paired with a mesh chair back frame. This design provides basic support through the plastic frame, while the mesh material enhances breathability, making it suitable for long office hours. Its structure typically follows ergonomic curves, fitting the natural curvature of the spine and distributing back pressure. Some high-end models use reinforced plastic or composite materials to improve load-bearing capacity and durability, while also incorporating adjustment mechanisms to dynamically adapt the backrest angle to different sitting positions.
Footrests
Footrests are the bottom support structures of office chairs, determining the chair's stability and mobility flexibility. The material and style directly impact the user experience. Common types include:
- Electroplated five-star footrests: Made using steel electroplating technology, they have a smooth, corrosion-resistant surface. The five-claw design distributes pressure and is suitable for hard floors. Their advantages include low cost and sturdy structure, but they are relatively heavy and require wheels for mobility.
- Aluminum alloy die-cast five-star footrests: Formed through aluminum alloy die-casting, they combine lightweight and high-strength properties. The surface can be anodized to enhance wear resistance and aesthetics. These footrests are often used in high-end office chairs and are suitable for scenarios requiring frequent movement.
- High-quality electroplated four-star footrests: The four-claw design reduces the footprint, making it suitable for limited spaces, but it is slightly less stable than the five-star version. The electroplating process ensures rust resistance, making it suitable for humid or high-cleaning-demand environments.
Elastic Brackets
Elastic brackets are core functional components of office swivel chairs, usually integrated at the bottom of the seat or the connection with the footrest, serving two main functions:
- Rotation buffering: Through spring or gas rod structures, they absorb the impact force when the chair rotates, reducing noise and improving rotation smoothness, thereby extending the lifespan of mechanical components.
- Movement locking: Some elastic brackets are equipped with locking mechanisms to fix the chair's position, preventing accidental sliding, which is suitable for scenarios requiring a stable sitting position, such as meetings or focused work. Gas rod-type elastic brackets can also adjust the seat height through air pressure to accommodate users of different heights.
The combined design of different brackets should comprehensively consider usage scenarios, budget, and ergonomic needs. For example, an open office area requiring frequent movement can prioritize aluminum alloy five-star footrests paired with elastic brackets; for fixed workstations, electroplated four-star footrests with basic back frame brackets can be chosen to reduce costs.
