Office Chair Bow Chair Repair
Office chairs and bow chairs can be repaired, either by yourself or by hiring a worker. Here are some common problems and repair methods:

The chair does not raise or lower smoothly or cannot be fixed at a certain height
This is usually related to the gas cylinder. First, check the control lever under the chair that controls the height adjustment to see if it is stuck by foreign objects or has a loose connection. If the control lever is normal but the chair still cannot be locked at a certain height, it may be due to natural wear of the internal components of the gas cylinder. Since the gas cylinder is a sealed component, it is not recommended to disassemble it yourself. You can contact the customer service of the purchase channel, describe the specific situation in detail, and seek professional help.
The seat cushion or backrest makes a slight noise
After using the chair for a while, slight noise may occur due to friction between the connecting components. Check if the screws at the connection between the backrest and the seat cushion and the various fastening points on the chassis are loose, and tighten them with a screwdriver. If it is a friction sound between plastic and metal parts, you can apply a small amount of lubricating grease at the connection to reduce friction and eliminate the noise.
The casters do not slide smoothly or scratch the floor
First, check if the casters are entangled with foreign objects such as hair or threads. After cleaning them, the sliding situation usually improves. If the casters themselves are severely worn, or if you want to replace them with soft casters that are more suitable for the floor material (such as wooden floors), you can seek replacement services. Casters are usually standard parts and can be provided separately.
An office chair that leans to one side
- Check the wheels: Place the chair upright and make sure each wheel foot is in contact with the ground. Then, turn the chair upside down and check each wheel foot for signs of damage. If a damaged wheel is found, you can purchase a new set of matching wheels for replacement.
- Remove the casters: Hold the wheel of the caster with one hand and the bottom of the chair with the other hand and pull hard. If it cannot be pulled out, insert the blade of a flat-head screwdriver into the small gap between the wheel foot and the chair as a lever and operate it back and forth slowly. In rare cases, the casters are fixed to the bottom of the chair with screws. When you see the screw head, loosen the screw with a screwdriver and remove the caster.
- Apply lubricant: Apply a small amount of spray lubricant (such as WD - 40) to each socket on the chair base. If you do not have spray lubricant, you can apply a pea-sized amount of Vaseline to the axle of each wheel.
- Install new casters: Use a rubber mallet to knock each caster into its socket on the chair. Align the rod of the caster with the intended base, push it gently with your hand. If it is not in place, pick up the rubber mallet and gently tap the caster.
- Test the repair effect: Turn the chair upside down and sit on it. If it rolls smoothly and evenly and no longer leans to one side, the repair is complete. If the chair still leans, continue to check if the seat plate is damaged.
