Office Chair Bow Assembly

Admin October 12, 2026

The assembly steps for office chair bows mainly fall into two categories, as detailed below:

Category 1: Direct Connection of Armrests and Backrest

  1. Install Armrests: Some bow-shaped chairs require the installation of left and right armrests first. Use the provided short screws (usually 2-4) to secure the armrests to the reserved holes on both sides of the seat cushion. Ensure the screw size matches the holes to prevent slipping or material damage from overtightening.
  2. Connect Backrest to Seat Cushion: Align the metal bracket or plastic clip of the backrest with the mounting position on the back of the seat cushion and secure it with screws (such as size 2 or 3) or a clip structure. Some designs require simultaneous installation of a headrest bracket, which should be inserted into the reserved slot at the top of the backrest and tightened with screws.
  3. Secure Bow Frame: Place the bow-shaped metal frame (usually made of steel or aluminum alloy) in the center of the bottom of the seat cushion. Pass a screw (such as a size 4 long screw) through the connecting hole between the bottom plate of the seat cushion and the bow frame to ensure the frame is stable and does not wobble.

Category 2: Integrated Tray Assembly

  1. Install Tray: Use 4 screws (matching the hole size of the tray) to secure the dual-action tray to the center of the bottom of the seat cushion. The tray is the core component for adjusting the tilt and height of the chair back, so ensure the screws are tightened until there is no looseness.
  2. Assemble Support Structure:
    • Triangle Cover and Headrest Bracket: If the chair is equipped with a headrest, insert the headrest bracket into the reserved slot of the triangle cover and secure it to the back of the seat cushion with screws.
    • Footrest and Non-slip Mat: Some designs include a retractable footrest. Insert its metal rod into the slide rail at the front of the seat cushion and install a non-slip mat to increase stability.
  3. Connect Bow Frame to Armrests:
    • Place the bow frame under the tray, connect it to the tray via a support bracket (if available), and secure it with screws.
    • When installing the armrests, use size 3 screws to fix them to the side holes of the bow frame, ensuring the armrests are level and symmetrical.

Key Precautions

  • Screw Size Differences: Different components require screws of corresponding sizes (e.g., size 3 for armrests, size 4 for trays). Mixing them up may result in an unstable structure.
  • Component Alignment: Before installation, check that all holes are aligned to avoid forcing screws in, which could cause material cracking.
  • Safety Test: After assembly, test the tilt, height adjustment, and armrest adjustment functions of the chair back to ensure there are no unusual noises or jams.

If the instruction manual is missing or the holes do not match, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for specialized tools or video guidance to avoid safety hazards caused by self-modification.
