Office Chair Bottom Installation
The steps for installing the bottom of an office chair are as follows:

Step 1: Install the casters and chair base
Casters are crucial components for the mobility of an office chair and need to be installed one by one onto the chair base. Ensure that each caster is firmly connected to the chair base to prevent looseness. After installing the casters, place the gas lift vertically in the center of the chair base. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, and its vertical placement ensures the stability of subsequent installations.
Step 2: Install the seat plate and seat cushion
The seat plate serves as a bridge connecting the seat cushion to the gas lift and should be correctly placed on the seat cushion. Pay attention to the orientation of the seat plate, as it is usually marked with installation directions or screw hole positions. After aligning with the four screw holes on the seat cushion, first lightly screw in each screw 3-4 turns to ensure the initial fixation of the seat plate, and then tighten the screws one by one. Some installation instructions mention that the seat plate should be installed beneath the seat panel and fixed with four long screws to the base, and adjustments should be made according to the specific structure during operation.
Step 3: Connect the seat cushion to the gas lift
Align the seat cushion with the installed seat plate with the top of the gas lift and slowly insert it into the hole of the seat plate to ensure full insertion. This step requires checking whether the connection between the gas lift and the seat plate is tight to prevent seat wobbling. After insertion, test the stability by gently shaking it. If looseness is detected, readjust it.
Step 4: Install the chair back
The installation of the chair back should be completed in two steps:
- Initial fixation: Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the installation positions on the armrests of the seat cushion and slowly insert them. At this time, use two screws to pass through from the bottom of the armrest brackets to fix the bottom of the backrest.
- Final locking: Align the back of the backrest with the installation holes on the seat cushion brackets and operate with two wrenches in coordination. One wrench fixes the screw, and the other wrench rotates the nut to firmly connect the backrest to the seat cushion brackets using a "double-locking" method. Some installation instructions mention "screwing on the angle brackets connecting the back and the seat", and the operating principle is similar. Ensure that all connection points are free of looseness.
Precautions:
- Avoid excessive force during installation to prevent screw slippage or component damage.
- If the screw holes are misaligned, check whether the previous steps are installed correctly and do not force the screws in.
- After installation, test the lifting, rotation, and backrest adjustment functions of the chair to ensure that all components are operating normally.
