Office Chair Bottom Fabric
The common materials for office chair bottom fabrics are non-woven fabric and high-density polyester, each with its own characteristics and applicable scenarios.

Non-woven Fabric:
Non-woven fabric is a type of non-woven textile formed by pressing polyester or polypropylene fibers at high temperatures. Its core advantages lie in its low cost and good breathability. It is naturally degradable, meeting environmental protection requirements. However, its durability has a significant drawback: after long-term use (approximately three to five years), the fiber structure is prone to shedding due to friction or aging, resulting in a rough or even damaged surface on the bottom fabric. This characteristic makes it more suitable for scenarios with low durability requirements, limited budgets, or short-term use, such as temporary office spaces or low-frequency usage environments.
High-Density Polyester:
High-density polyester features tightly woven fibers, resembling a "fishing net structure," with a weight of over 100 grams per square meter, giving it tensile resistance and shape retention properties. Its advantages are reflected in three aspects:
- Strong weather resistance: It is less prone to mold when damp, making it particularly suitable for environments with high humidity, such as underfloor heating rooms (where high temperatures should be avoided to prevent material aging) or during the rainy season in southern China;
- Excellent durability: High-end office chairs often use this material. Its black design is not only dirt-resistant but also has firm dyeing, remaining fade-resistant for ten years, maintaining a clean appearance even after long-term use;
- High functionality: The tight fiber structure effectively prevents dust from rising, reducing cleaning frequency, while also avoiding scratches on floor tiles caused by chair leg movement, protecting the floor material.
Selection Advice:
If cost-effectiveness is pursued and the usage frequency is low, non-woven fabric can meet basic needs; if long-term use is required or in humid and high-temperature environments, high-density polyester is a better choice, especially suitable for high-end office chairs or scenarios with high durability and functionality requirements. Additionally, black high-density polyester has become the mainstream color in the market due to its dirt-resistant and dust-preventive properties.
