Office Chair and Boss Chair Production

Admin October 09, 2026

The production process of office chairs (boss chairs) mainly includes the following steps:

First, seat frame production is carried out, which serves as the foundational support structure of the entire chair. A hydraulic press is used to bend steel tubes into the shape of the seat frame, and the open ends are welded to ensure the frame's stability. Steel bars are welded in the center of the frame to enhance its load-bearing capacity. Then, S-shaped springs are hung, and crossbars are fixed horizontally onto the springs to provide elastic support for the seat.

Next is backrest frame production. The design of the backrest frame must consider ergonomics, including lumbar support, armrests, and other parts. During production, the rough edges and burrs on the steel bars are smoothed out to prevent scratching the user or affecting comfort during use.

Then comes leather processing, which is crucial for leather boss chairs. Workers lay the leather flat on a table and cut it along thick cardboard templates. When cutting, they carefully avoid flaws in the leather and use templates of different shapes to cut out leather pieces for different parts, improving leather utilization and avoiding waste.

Following that is foam cushion production. Foam is cut to the same size as the leather. It should be noted that different types of foam are used for different parts of the office chair. Tighter foam is typically used for main load-bearing parts such as the seat and backrest to provide sufficient support and comfort.

After that, leather and foam stitching is performed. A sewing machine is used to stitch the leather and foam together one by one, ensuring firm stitching while paying attention to the neatness and aesthetics of the seams.

Finally, component assembly takes place. A piece of wood veneer is added to the backrest, which is then entirely wrapped in foam and covered with a leather pad. A plastic cover is installed on the back. The sliding plate is locked onto the base, and an adjustable hydraulic column is installed. This column not only adjusts the chair's height but also supports 360-degree rotation. An aluminum base is installed, and five casters are fitted into the grooves of the base for easy chair movement. A car-style headrest and two armrests are installed on the backrest to enhance user comfort.

In addition, regarding the materials of boss chairs, leather models are mostly made of PU leather or genuine leather and are mainly used for executive chairs and mid-level chairs. Mesh models, with good breathability, are commonly used for junior chairs and are suitable for summer use.
