Office Chair and Boss Chair Fixation

Admin October 09, 2026

The fixation steps for office chairs or boss chairs typically include the installation of chair wheels, gas lift cylinders, bases, backrests, armrests, and headrests. The specific operations are as follows:

  1. Fixation of Chair Wheels and Five-Star Base
Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes at the bottom of the five-star base, ensuring that each wheel is fully embedded and free from looseness. During this step, check that the wheel directions are consistent to avoid obstruction of rotation after installation. Some models may adopt a snap-fit design, requiring firm pressing until a 'click' sound is heard to confirm fixation.

  2. Fixation of Gas Lift Cylinder and Five-Star Base
Place the thicker end of the gas lift cylinder vertically against the center hole of the five-star base, ensuring a flat contact surface. The gas lift cylinder is the core component for adjusting the seat height, and care must be taken during installation to avoid tilting or misalignment, which could lead to failure of the lifting function or seat wobbling.

  3. Fixation of Base and Seat Cushion
Position the base on the bottom of the seat cushion, align the four screw holes, and then use a screwdriver to screw in the four B screws 3-4 turns each (pre-fixation), and then tighten them one by one in a diagonal sequence. This step requires controlling the torque to avoid over-tightening the screws, which could cause deformation of the seat cushion or cracking of the base.

  4. Fixation of Backrest

    • Bottom Fixation: Align the two sides of the bottom of the backrest with the armrest installation positions on both sides of the seat cushion and insert them. Use two C screws to pass through the holes from the bottom of the armrest brackets to fix the bottom of the backrest.
    • Rear Fixation: Align the rear of the backrest with the installation holes on the seat cushion brackets, and use two wrenches to lock and fix them with D screws (i.e., one wrench fixes the nut, and the other rotates the screw) to prevent loosening due to unilateral force.
  5. Fixation of Armrests
Press and hold the button below the armrest surface (some models use spring clips), insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively, and confirm fixation upon hearing a 'click' sound. Some models may use No. 3 screws to reinforce from the side of the armrests, which should be adjusted according to the instructions.

  6. Fixation of Headrest
Align the bottom of the headrest with the installation slot in the middle of the top of the backrest, press firmly until it is fully fitted, and tighten it with two E screws passing through the fixing clips. The height of the headrest is usually adjustable, and the sliding or rotating function should be tested after installation to ensure normal operation.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check the parts list to avoid missing screws or accessories.
  • Some models may simplify the steps (e.g., the backrest is directly snapped into the tray), and the instructions should be followed.
  • After installation, comprehensively check the stability of all components, especially the connection between the gas lift cylinder and the five-star base.
