Office Chair and Boss Chair Assembly

Admin October 09, 2026

The assembly of office chairs or boss chairs can generally be carried out according to the following steps:

  1. Install the casters and chair base
Align each caster with the mounting holes on the chair base and secure them by rotating or pressing, ensuring that each caster is firmly installed and rotates smoothly. After installation, insert the gas lift vertically into the central hole of the chair base, making sure the bottom of the gas lift is fully in contact with the chair base to prevent wobbling during subsequent use. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the seat height, so it must be kept vertical during installation to prevent functional abnormalities caused by tilting.

  2. Secure the chassis and seat
Place the chassis on the bottom of the seat, paying attention to its orientation (usually clearly marked), and ensure that the screw holes align with the reserved holes on the seat. Use the provided screws to screw each one in 3-4 turns initially, then tighten them one by one in a diagonal sequence to prevent the chassis from shifting due to uneven force. The chassis is a key component connecting the seat to the gas lift, so it must be installed flat to avoid affecting the stability of the chair.

  3. Connect the backrest and seat
Align the bottom sides of the backrest with the armrest mounting slots on both sides of the seat and slowly insert them until the bottom clips are fully engaged. First, use screws to pass through from the bottom of the armrest bracket to secure the connection between the backrest and the armrests; then align the mounting holes at the back of the backrest with the corresponding holes on the seat bracket and secure them with screws. Pay attention to the verticality of the backrest in this step to avoid discomfort during use due to tilting.

  4. Install the gas lift and seat
Align the bottom of the assembled seat with the top of the gas lift and press down vertically to fully insert the holes at the bottom of the seat onto the gas lift, ensuring that the chassis is in tight contact with the top of the gas lift. After installation, you can test the firmness of the connection by gently shaking it. If there is any looseness, readjust it.

  5. Install the armrests and headrest
Press the adjustment button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively. A "click" sound indicates that they are properly installed. When installing the headrest, align its top with the mounting slot on the backrest, press down until it is fully in contact, and then use screws to pass through the headrest fixing clip and connect it to the backrest to ensure that the headrest does not slide freely.

Precautions: Before assembly, check that all components are complete to avoid interruption of the process due to missing parts. Control the force when using tools to prevent screw stripping or component damage. If you encounter difficulty inserting clips, you can slightly adjust the angle or check if there are any foreign objects blocking the holes.
