Office Chair Bearing

Answers to common questions about office chair bearings are as follows:

I. Customization and Pricing Some office chair bearings support customization on demand, which needs to be confirmed with the merchant. Common accessory types include factory-direct non-standard wrapped bearings, boss chair rotating stamping bearings, etc. The price range is wide, from 0.71 yuan to several hundred yuan. The price differences are mainly influenced by the material (such as metal or plastic), the manufacturing process (such as precision machining or ordinary stamping), and the functions (such as quiet operation or high load-bearing capacity). It is recommended to choose according to the usage scenario and budget.

II. Cleaning and Maintenance of Roller Bearings If the roller bearing gets stuck with hair or other debris, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the roller: Turn the office chair upside down and try to pull out the roller bracket by hand. If the snap fastener is tight, use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the edge of the snap fastener to assist in removal.
  2. Clean the debris: Check the gaps between the bearing and the roller. Use tweezers to pick out visible foreign objects such as hair and debris. If the debris is deeply embedded in the gaps, use an old toothbrush dipped in a small amount of neutral detergent to gently brush the surface and the bearing gaps, and then rinse with water (Be careful to avoid water getting into the bearing).
  3. Dry and lubricate: After wiping off the water, ventilate and dry for 10 minutes to ensure there is no residual water. Drip 1-2 drops of lubricating oil (such as sewing machine oil or special bearing oil) onto the bearing and rotate the roller to evenly distribute the lubricating oil.
  4. Reinstall: Align the roller with the bracket snap fastener and push it in. After hearing a 'click' sound, confirm that it is installed firmly. Turn the office chair upright and test whether the rolling is smooth.

III. Precautions

  • Avoid using strong acid or strong alkali cleaners during cleaning to prevent corrosion of the bearing material.
  • Use an appropriate amount of lubricating oil. Excessive amounts may cause dust to be adsorbed, which can actually increase wear.
  • If the bearing is severely worn (such as having difficulty rotating or making abnormal noises), it is recommended to replace it with a new part rather than just cleaning and lubricating it.
  • After long-term use, regularly (every 3-6 months) check the condition of the bearing. Preventive maintenance can extend its service life.
