Office Chair Base Utilization
The utilization of an office chair base is mainly reflected in three core functions: enabling horizontal rotation, controlling recline adjustment, and providing load-bearing and connection capabilities.
Firstly, the base enables the horizontal rotation function of the office chair. Through its special design, the base allows the entire seat (including the cushion and backrest) to rotate horizontally around the axis of the gas lift. This function enables users to easily turn around to retrieve items, communicate with colleagues to the side or rear, or make minor adjustments to the angle facing the computer or desk without moving the chair legs during office work. This flexibility significantly enhances office efficiency and reduces the inconvenience and disruptions caused by frequent chair movement.
Secondly, the base incorporates mechanical structures for recline adjustment. These structures include springs, dampers, or fiberglass springs. By operating the control lever or knob, users can lock the recline angle or adjust the force of the backrest's rebound. Depending on the recline method, the base can be classified into three types of mechanisms: back-recline, seat-recline, and synchronous-recline. Among them, the synchronous-recline mechanism enables the backrest and cushion to undergo angular displacement simultaneously, providing a more ergonomic natural lying position and effectively alleviating fatigue caused by prolonged office work.
Finally, the base also plays a crucial role in load-bearing and connection. As the hub for force transmission, the upper end of the base is connected to the seat frame, bearing the user's weight; the lower end is directly sleeved over the top of the piston rod of the gas lift (gas spring) through a central hole or sleeve. The nitrogen pressure difference inside the gas lift drives the piston rod to extend and retract, and this movement is transmitted through the base to achieve the chair's height adjustment function. This design not only ensures the stability and durability of the chair but also allows users to easily adjust the chair height according to their own needs to adapt to different office environments and requirements.
