Office Chair Base Painting

Admin October 12, 2026

Specialized painting equipment can be used for office chair base painting, and there are significant differences in the processes and effects between baking paint and ordinary spraying.

Office Chair Base Painting Equipment

There is a specialized device for painting office chair bases, which mainly consists of mounting brackets, robotic arms, a loading platform, drive motors, and power components. During the painting process, the collection tray equipped with the device plays a crucial role. It effectively intercepts water-based paint that fails to be successfully sprayed onto the surface of the office chair base. This design is extremely important because the paint may be inhaled by workers during diffusion, which can have adverse effects on their health. The presence of the collection tray well avoids this situation, ensuring the safety of the working environment and the health of the workers.

Differences Between Baking Paint and Ordinary Spraying for Chair Steel Frames

  • Process Principles: Chair steel frames are usually sprayed using electrostatic powder coating or self-drying paint. Electrostatic powder coating utilizes the principle of electrostatic adsorption to uniformly adhere powder coatings to the surface of the steel frame. Self-drying paint forms a film relying on its own physical drying characteristics or is cured through low-temperature baking. In contrast, the baking paint process requires high-temperature baking, typically within the range of 180โ„ƒ - 250โ„ƒ. In a high-temperature environment, the paint undergoes a chemical cross-linking reaction, forming a dense network structure.
  • Performance Characteristics: Baking paint outperforms ordinary spraying in multiple aspects. In terms of adhesion, baking paint can adhere more firmly to the surface of the steel frame and is less likely to peel off. It also has stronger scratch resistance and corrosion resistance, effectively resisting scratches during daily use and erosion from the external environment. Moreover, baking paint has excellent yellowing resistance and is less likely to turn yellow after long-term use. Additionally, the surface treated with baking paint is smooth and flat, with high and uniform gloss and rich colors, presenting a high-end metallic texture. It is often used in indoor high-end leisure chairs and office chairs to enhance the product's grade. In contrast, if the process of ordinary spraying is not well controlled, phenomena such as orange peel and sagging may occur. The surface hardness is relatively low, and the surface is prone to wear and whitening after long-term use. It is mostly used in outdoor or low-cost scenarios.
