Office Chair Base Pad

Admin October 11, 2026

The office chair base pad is an accessory used to protect the floor and enhance the user experience of office chairs, featuring various types and characteristics.

Material and Performance: Commonly made of TPU or thickened composite materials, these pads are scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and have good resilience. When paired with universal wheels, they can cushion impacts and provide smooth, quiet sliding. The bottom features diverse anti-slip designs, such as multi-point micro-suction cup structures and high-density TPR composite adhesive layers, which create continuous suction to prevent overall displacement or partial edge curling when the chair moves. Fine anti-slip bumps combined with high-density fiber bases effectively cushion rolling impacts. Dotted plastic bottom designs combine anti-slip and wear-resistant properties, are gentle on floors, and have scientifically arranged anti-slip points to prevent sliding displacement.

Thickness and Size: The optimal thickness range is between 3.5mm and 5mm, which can stably support the base without interfering with ergonomic adjustments, ensuring even weight distribution. When selecting a size, use the chair's maximum rotation radius + 20cm as a reference. Choosing an oversized pad blindly may result in edge stacking and tripping hazards, especially in small spaces or areas with dense furniture; an undersized pad will not cover the chair's full range of movement.

Edge Design: Some pads use hot-pressed edging + micro-arc chamfering processes, with edges that naturally lie flat against the floor without curling, offering strong resistance to deformation and remaining snug even after two to three years of use. Double-strand lock-stitch edging prevents edge curling and ensures durability without fraying.

Appearance and Compatibility: In terms of appearance, some pads have a plump, fine surface that is soft and delicate, with just the right amount of resilience, and feature micro-carving for added interest; others have a simple, stylish design that suits various home decor styles; high-density fleece designs offer a soft touch, with fine edge craftsmanship and an overall sturdy feel. In terms of compatibility, most mainstream computer chair bases are round or five-clawed, and pads with circular cuts that precisely fit the base contour can utilize every inch of surface area for support, ensuring full coverage without redundancy.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Being washable, quick-drying, and non-deforming are basic requirements. More importantly, the fibers should resist pilling, static electricity, and stain penetration. Poor-quality materials may become stiff, fade, or shrink after washing, becoming loose and deformed after a few uses, losing their original flatness and anti-slip properties.
