Office Chair Base Packaging

Admin October 10, 2026

Packaging of office chair bases should be chosen based on moving conditions, either as non-disassembled or disassembled packaging, and materials such as bubble wrap, stretch wrap, and cardboard boxes should be prepared, following standardized procedures.

I. Preparation of Packaging Materials

  1. Cushioning Materials: Bubble wrap is the core material, used to wrap all parts of the chair, including the seat, backrest, and legs, providing shock protection; stretch wrap is used for outer layer fixation to prevent the bubble wrap from loosening and to protect against dust and dirt.
  2. Protective Materials: Packing paper or old newspapers can be used to wrap painted surfaces prone to scratches (such as metal parts) or fabric sections; dust bags or disposable tablecloths can be placed inside cardboard boxes to enhance dust and water resistance.
  3. Storage Tools: It is recommended to use cardboard boxes with dimensions of 60x40x50cm or 50x40x40cm, which should be able to accommodate the main components; accessory bags or sealed plastic bags are used to store small parts such as screws and washers to prevent loss.
  4. Auxiliary Tools: Wide tape is used to seal cardboard boxes and fix packaging edges; markers and label paper are used to mark components or accessory bags for easy subsequent assembly.

II. Selection of Packaging Methods

  1. Non-disassembled Packaging:
    • Applicable Scenarios: When moving passages (such as doorways, elevators) and transportation vehicle space are sufficient, the chair has a simple structure or is complex to disassemble, and quick packaging is required.
    • Operating Steps: Stand the chair upright or lay it down, wrap the entire chair with multiple layers of bubble wrap, focusing on protecting vulnerable parts such as the legs and armrests; tightly wrap the outer layer with stretch wrap to ensure the bubble wrap does not come off; if the chair has painted or fabric sections, first wrap them with packing paper before applying bubble wrap.
  2. Disassembled Packaging:
    • Applicable Scenarios: When moving space is limited (such as narrow staircases, small elevators), the chair is of high value or has a precise structure, and long-distance transportation or long-term storage is required.
    • Operating Steps:
      • Disassembly Process: Follow the principle of 'from outside to inside, from top to bottom, reverse assembly'. First, lay the chair down on a soft surface (such as a blanket), then disassemble the armrests, backrest, legs, and other components in sequence, placing small parts such as screws and washers into accessory bags and marking them;
      • Component Packaging: Wrap each component individually with bubble wrap, increasing the number of layers for vulnerable parts (such as leg joints); fix the outer layer with stretch wrap to prevent loosening;
      • Box Storage: Place components in the cardboard box according to their size and shape, with heavy items at the bottom and light items on top; fill gaps with bubble wrap or old newspapers to prevent movement during transportation; place a dust bag inside the cardboard box, seal it, reinforce the edges with wide tape, and mark 'Fragile' and 'This Side Up' on the outside of the box.
